Probably the green cape/purple dress.
But, my vote is for the black and blue "pirate" outfit w/red mask (a la Mego).
Better yet...Julie Newmar. Meow!

Classic is Green Cape, Purple Dress....
Mego style was so bad it was good...
Best version ever was from Batman Returns (I almost hate saying a movie versrion trumped!)
Current version is ok.
The spandex purple with black boots was good too.

Purple dress w/cape is the classic look, I'd say, but my personal default is the purple suit with boots. (I'm not a big fan of the new look, honestly.) On my figure display, Catwoman's one of the few 4H figures I didn't opt to display...I went with the Long Halloween version.

Imagine a 4h Mego version revisited. I'd buy it for the sheer atrocity of it.
Personally I like the purple version but the current black version is good too...

Personally, though the purple dress may be considered classic, I think that the costume Julie Newmar, Lee Merriwether, and Eartha Kitt wore on the TV series is more iconic.
My favorite outfit (next to the current one) is definitely the Jim Balent purple catsuit version. Me-ow.

that figure from Legends Of Batman is still one of my faves.

My favorite is the Michelle Pfeiffer version--I prefer the current version to the Jim Balent purple and black. I'd support a purple and green as a "classic" version.

The only version I care about is the current Cooke version (as originally written by Ed Brubaker). Brubaker made Catwoman interesting for the first time in ages, and his run on the book is good enough to stand side by side with Selina's other appearances in the holy trilogy of Bat-books; Year One, Long Halloween and Dark Victory.

I still prefer the Purple spandex and black (or the white snow version from contagion) with Ballon accessories--
The new black spy suit is okay -- and my classic look would be the Batman TV Version--
I dont even read the comics pre Jason Todd -- I just cant get through them.

Total agreement. Although, I'm waiting on a new and better Catwoman from 4HM

The purple dress/green cape/black boots definately lasted the longest (from 1950's to 1980's) and personally, I consider it the most iconic of her costumes as much of the advertising for DC during that time used that costume.
The Balent costume is a good second though her current look seems to be well accepted by fans.

I think the reason some people have a problem with the modern outfit is that it looks like what a regular professional jewel thief would wear with cat ears attached. My personal favorite is original BTAS Catwoman, imagine a real woman wearing that outfit and you'll agree.

Totally forgot about that outfit. Same with Meriwether's from the 60's. Both very good.
