So I picked up a BD this weekend and he was a little different from the other one I had. The gold foil on the bottom of the pimp vest on one of the BDs is smooth, but on the other the foil is all wrinkly. I cannot get a clear pic--I will try again tonight. Probably not a real variant, but more of an assembly line anomaly similar to gray vest Shade and day-glo Hawkman. Has anyone else seen this?

I saw and passed up that same Blue Devil this weekend. It was a weird look and I don't know if it is a variant, I thought maybe it was mispressed?

It sounds like an assembly error. The vest is glued down, so maybe it was glued in the wrong spot, and got wrinkled as a result? I did a quick check on eBay, and didn't see any ones matching your description.

The Shade "gray vest" variant isn't a variant or an error. It's molded in the same black plastic as the other Shades, but develops some sort of white film after a while, making it appear to be gray. The Shade I bought was black in the bubble; when I recently took it out of storage, the vest had become gray. I wiped the film off and it was fine.

The dayglo Hawkman, on the other hand, is a legitimate variant, as it features a completely different paint deco as the standard "red" Hawkman.

Not only has this happened to my SHade, but it has also happened to my single carded Huntress' cape, and Vigilante's bandana is now pink...
