Even beyond JSA though, I would love some All Star Squadron figures too... Johnny Quick, Robot man, Firebrand, Liberty Belle... Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, Amazing Man... Great characters!

I think you mean Showcase.
Starman and Black Canary were in the Brave and the Bold:
Mike
(It was rumored that Gardner Fox and Murphy Anderson were going to produce a Sandman/Dr. Mid-Night team-up, too, but for some reason it never happened.)

The first time that I heard about the Justice Society was in 1964.
I don't know why, but I really dug the fact that there was an alternate Earth version of the JLA. I loved that concept, and I've loved that group ever since.
Mike
(I'm still waiting for my Johnny Thunder, Mr. Terrific and Star Spangled Kid figures from DCD.)

Ha, I have that issue! For me it was during the All Star Squadron run that I learned about the JSA, that's what got me into comics... I was such a kid, I was like "look at all these superfriends that aren't on the TV show!" And every Saturday I waited for more to show up:)

As for the question, since we are starting fresh, the one Earth 2 / 40's era hero I knew well who was not recreated in the late 50's is Dr. Fate.
Dr. Fate was also a JLI member in its early days.
As for Hawkman - we'll get this guy, not because he was a JSA member, but because in a twist of wierdness that is really quite unexplainable, the current Hawkman is in fact the Earth 2 version. As long as you are not picky about the headpiece he wears.

You're right. It was Showcase...
See what happens when you get old and your mind starts going...
I remember being so in hopes that this 2-issue story would lead to a Earth-II comic from DC, but alas, nothing for several decades except for the annual JLA/JSA team up (and some of those are best left forgotten)...

I liked the Earth 2 Hawkman's little head piece...
On the bright side it'll be an easy custom... (provided I can find 2 Hawkman figures, I still haven't found the first one...) *Note: my friend found one, and it has one leg about an inch shorter than the other, usually you can balance the figures out with a penny... This one you need 15 cents worth. LOL

I did too. I'd take that as a variant or extra-head pack-in.
