There are 16 new figures for 2008. That's a lot for half a year anyway you slice it. The figures will ship in two waves. Wave 1 will be in Aug, wave 2 will be in Octoberish. (things change and that is still far off).
As stated, each "wave" will have two (count em) 6 packs, two 3 packs, and five single figures.
And to clarify, Superman is in his original deco in the Apokolips pack. (and we are trying to include the 5 POA figures whenever logistics allow). There are still a few main characters in the line in their known deco to help anchor sets. While you won't see three packs with Supes, WW and Bats together, they will be available in some form in the fall line.
Sounds good! And I actually found new JLU today, so I'm all psyched for the line again!

I'm thrilled that this six pack has 3 all new characters (a big step up from the previous one the six packs have had).
Though I have to say that I'm still a little annoyed that it is half re-packs of existing figures. I'm going to end up with three doubles! Now that the line is finally more officially collector-centric, I was hoping stuff like that would be behind us. Those three new figures would have made a great three pack...
Of course I understand it's all about the budget and how much new sculpting can be done per set. I just wish I didn't get stuck with so many duplicates!

Frankly I'm looking forward to the Superman, it's a different body type and articulation type than the one that's been mass marketed. Superman was one of the figures I've always wanted a new sculpt on and this one excites me (though it's not NEW IT"S OLD), so for me it's 4 different figures, and alot of people haven't gotten Mr. Miracle yet so that can bring it to 5.

It's the same body as the original, not a new sculpt.

Yeah, I know it's not a 'new' sculpt, but it's different than the one I have like a hundred of at home and it's better than that one too. I never got that version and alot of people I know didn't either...

5 p.o.a is better for me than the mass marketed sculpt with more p.o.a . Remember, the first wave of JL figures was so beautiful...
This "new" Superman to come in this 6-pack is not a new sculpt, just the original ( and the best ) sculpt.
