There’s been some chirping on the various forums regarding the character choices from Mattel; specifically that the lineups shown so far are duplicating the same figures as what DC Direct has already produced (or has planned for release).
I know that in order to make the line successful, Mattel needs to produce the popular big guns, the mainstays, the easily-recognizable characters that will sell. But many fans, me included, want to see figures of characters that have not been produced before by DC Direct and maybe not anyone else entirely.
So what never-before-made (or rarely-made) characters do you want to see from Mattel?
Silver Age Brainiac
Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom
Flash Rogues
Dark Flash Walter West
Flash John Fox in the blue/black costume
Aquaman in the blue costume
Mera
Ocean Master
Black Lightning in the original costume
The Metal Men
Rocket Red
Prometheus
Green Lantern Arisia
Crimson Avenger
Golden Age Mr. Terrific
Captain Comet
Alan Scott in the Zero-Hour costume
Obsidian
The Ray
Tempest
Calendar Man
Killer Moth
Atomic Skull
Chronos
Major Force
Thoughts?

Would that Calendar man be the design from the Batman Year One style (Long Halloween, Dark Victory)? I liked the Hannibal vibe instead of the corny classic costume.
As for your list, while you've listed some characters that I would rather see in different costumes, I'd buy any minor character you listed. Mattel should take this opportunity to appeal to older collectors, because the newer ones like myself will still appreciate the figures on your list (in gneral, anyway; there's usually exceptions).
From your list, I'd especially like to see Zoom, Flash rogues, Metal Men, The Ray, Killer Moth, and Major Force. They'd all make good choices for future waves.

Completely agree with the Metal Men choice. I'd like to see characters like Stargirl, S.T.R.I.P.E.S, Fire, Ice, Jesse Quick (plus her Flash and Liberty Belle costumes), Thunderbolt, Mera, Greg Saunders Vigilante, Shining Knight, Chemo -- basically any characters that are visually striking... the list goes on-and-on... Even the Matrix/Earth Angel Supergirl has never had an action figure unless you count the Tonner doll...
As of right now, Superman Red and Blue are the only ones DCD hasn't done, right?... It would be nice if Mattel could give us at least one figure per wave that hasn't seen plastic from DCD...

I wouldn't mind a Green Lantern Ch'p figure. I could display some epic battle scenes with him!

Well, the characters I named in my 2008 wishlist look like a who's-who of characters that were overlooked by DCD:
Black Lightning
Dr Light (the dude one)
Heatwave
Weather Wizard
Amazing Man
Silver Banshee
Dr Polaris
Black Adam
Blue Devil
Aztek
Atomic Skull
The Ray
Geo-Force
Cyborg
Monarch
C&Cs
Imperiex
Neron
Atom Smasher
Despero
Giganta
The ones in bold have either been made or announced. Truth be told, I prefer the 2nd and 3rd tier characters.

Parademons
Desaad
Steppenwolf
...basically ANY of the New Gods besides Orion
Scarface and the Ventriloquist
a decent Joker
Brown Man-Bat
Silver Age Metallo (or any that doesn't have a steam shovel for an arm)
Luthor-in-a-suit
Batman Beyond
There's a LOT of good character choices that I'd buy in a heartbeat... if only they'd do characters I don't already own in 6" scale...

...which reminds me, I'd like a Captain Atom because I didn't buy that figure, either.
I don't care for McGuinness figures, and as far as I'm concerned, DCU versions would be the first versions done.
