We’re not getting a funky re-imagined version of Amazo, or the Amazo 2000 version with the skull face (ok, granted, that was a pretty cool look). We’re getting the classic Silver Age version of Amazo, complete with goofy skullcap and striped unitard that makes it so visually appealing. I freaking LOVE it. They could have gone with a half-dozen other looks for this figure, but they went with a classic.

By making this version of Amazo, it tells me that Mattel gets it. It tells me the 4 Horsemen get it. And it tells me that all the cool Silver Age designs that so many fans know and love have a great shot of actually making it into this amazing toy line, and not being overlooked in favor of the modern versions.

Maybe I’m making too much of this, but seeing the Silver Age Amazo has gotten me totally pumped for the future of this line! :D

The worst part of that picture is Snapper Carr, lol. I always hated that guy, and I believe JLA #77 proved me right on what a boogledong that guy was lol.

I never suspected that the Four Horsemen didn't "get it." Let's give them some credit here. Their work has been excellent. Their choices have been great...but we probably think so because we mostly all come from the same Mego/Super Friends/Super Powers background.

If Mattel really does "get it," then I'd like to see them get it out to the consumers. It's mid-April and distribution sucks. What happened to the special "DC Universe displays" in the action figure aisles? What happened to "we hear you, and we've done something about it."

I know, I know. I write this in every thread. I am waiting for the Guru to address it...or better yet, do something about it. Seeing is believing. So far Mattel has not come through for us. Nothing has changed.

As for Amazo, where are his nipples? Which begs the question, does this mean we are not going to get an anatomically correct Hawkman?

I am also stoked to see Amazo join the DCUC line.

However, I'm just a little bit disappointed with his head sculpt. I don't feel his skull-cap should so closely mimic a hair-line, and his ears should be more noticeably pointed. Hopefully the Four Horsemen will make some adjustments for the final version.

I know the whole point of this thread is the classic Amazo, but what would you guys think of this as a variant?

I'd rather have "The Tornado's Path" variant instead of a silver Amazo.

and does DCUC version come with lasso?
and which wave will he be? WW wave?
I hear that we're getting a GIGANTA CnC?

Who else? Cheetah? Circe? ???

I would rather have the new modern version since this is the first time that I've see the classic Amazo. To me he looks like a bad Namor.

Why does he have to have nipples? This seems to me to be a rather strange complaint, I didn't even noticed until it was pointed out. Is this Joel Schumacher? He is an android why does he need niples? If you look at the pictures on this thread he doesn't have any.

I thought he looked like Namor too, but I'm only 24.

Ya know, that android in Jason X didn't have nipples, either...
