Love the side by side comparison pics with DC Direct.

Very nice Mike.
Makes me wonder why we have yet to see an Earth 2 or early variant of Batman and Superman yet.

I picked up a TRU exclusive Batman the other day. Does it work as a Golden Age Batman?

Well, the outside of the package uses the "All-Star" logo. ;)

Let's see how he looks with the rest of the Mattel JSA.

And with some DC Direct's:

And the DC Direct All-Star Batman:

(I like it. I'll use it as my JSA Batman. Now it would be nice to get Golden Age versions of Superman, Wonder Woman and the Earth-Two Robin.) ;)

I got wave 19 from Mr. Mike S so it's picture time.

The whole assortment:

Comparison shots of Al with the DC Direct version:

The "Atoms Family" (Har! I crack me up):

Mattel Sandman side by side with DC Direct Sandman:

Again, a Mattel/DCD comparsion, this time of Carter:

Carter/Katar/Carter:

"Stars My Destination":

Okay, this is fun. Mattel just releases a Golden Age Batman in the Batman Legacy line. Here's a few shots with the TRU exclusive Batman:

And a few pics with DC Direct's Golden Age Batman:

And the World's Finest:

The Modern Age JSA:

The Golden Age:

Same team with a few DCD's mixed in:

(And that's it! Golden Age Flash is coming. We'll probably get a Golden Age Superman and Wonder Woman somewhere down the line. I have serious doubts about E2 Robin, Huntress, Original Star Spangled Kid, Johnny Thunder, Mr. Terrific, Golden Age Red Tornado and Hawkgirl. I hate to be a downer, but I just don't see it.)

Thanks for the pics.

I'm hoping we'll see a Kendra Hawkgirl at some point - new head and torso and she's ready to go.

I thought Al Pratt was meant to be shorter - he looks about standard height in those.

My first exposure to JSA was the team up where the 4 black balls turned 4 people into super criminals that beat the JSA and Tbolt. Then Johnny sends Tbolt to bring back 'some' JLA'ers, and he gets 4. Johnny asks why only 4 and Tbolt says "You said some. To me, some means 4." That was the first time I ever thought about words like some or several having an actual numerical definition. Amazing what you can learn from a comic book.

Thanks for the pictures. It's always great to see the various interpretations of these characters side-by-side. Specially with scales sometimes being inconsistent.

We got close, baby. We got real, real close.

There were 23 members of the classic Pre-Crisis Justice Society of America. Mattel made 14 of them. There were 9 that didn't make it.

I'm going to see if I can get a customizer to help me out. Basically at this point the Golden Age Superman, Golden Age Wonder Woman, Original Mr. Terrific, Golden Age Red Tornado, Johnny Thunder and the T-bolt, Original Star-Spangled Kid and the android Red Tornado in his first costume completes the Pre-Crisis JSA. The DC Direct versions of Earth-Two Robin and Earth-Two Huntress will have to do, unfortunately.

I know that not everyone counts Ma Hunkle, the original Red Tornado, as a card carrying member of the Justice Society, but I do.

Some members of the Injustice Society would be cool, too. The Fiddler, the Gambler, the original Harlequin.

Mike
(Wish me luck, troops. I'll let you know how it goes.)
