Daniel has already posted this on the front page, but I'll put it here again for discussion...

Got this e-mail a little after 9 PM ET...

To Our Loyal Collectors,

Thank you for being the world’s most dedicated fans and passionate supporters of MattyCollector.com over the years.

We want to let you know that we have been working on something new and different for you that measures up to your loyalty and devotion.

As of December 31, 2016, we will be shutting down the website as we transition to Super7 to manufacture and deliver the Masters of the Universe and adult collector lines. Subscriptions and orders for 2016 will remain unaffected, and the site will continue to operate through the end of the year. For the past two years, Super7 has proven to be a great partner, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow the Masters of the Universe line. They will unveil the expanded line for 2017 at San Diego Comic-Con.

To help you complete your collections before the end of the year, we’ll be opening the Vault beginning Thursday, July 21 at 9 a.m. PT. All 2014 and 2015 items, and select 2016 items, will be available for sale at that time. They’ll remain in the shop until the end of the year or while supplies last, whichever comes first. For our U.S.-based collectors, any Vault products you buy during San Diego Comic-Con will arrive with free domestic ground shipping.*

We thank you for your dedication and support through the years.

Sincerely,
MattyCollector.com

*Free domestic ground shipping offer on all Vault products ends 7/24/16 at 11:59pm PT. Not valid on previous purchases. May not be combined with any other offer or discount. The discount appears in your cart when you add your first qualifying item to your cart. Applies to standard shipping only, and excludes rush orders and additional shipping charges for international addresses.

Then, about forty-five minutes later another message arrived from the Matty address...

A Special Message for Matty Fans, From Our Partners at Super7

Hello Matty Collectors!

This is Brian Flynn, owner of Super7, and I just wanted to say how excited we are to expand our relationship with Mattel and Masters of the Universe this year and beyond! We’re looking forward to creating a wonderful array of exciting and unexpected Masters of the Universe products in the years to come.

As some of you may know, we’ve been working with Mattel for a few years now, creating both the retro 3.75” MOTU figures, the M.U.S.C.L.E. MOTU figures, and last year’s SDCC 2015 Skeletor’s Lair special event. Since then, we’ve announced wave 2 of the 3.75” figures, and wave 2 of the M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, which will debut at SDCC 2016.

Speaking of SDCC 2016, our biggest announcement was that while all this was going on, we’ve been working secretly on the first new Masters of the Universe animation in the classic style since 1985 – “The Curse of the Three Terrors”! In trying to be as authentic to the original series as possible, this new animation features original voice actor Alan Oppenheimer reprising his signature role as Skeletor (as well as Mer-Man and Man At Arms) on a new adventure in Eternia. Additionally, we worked with The Power and Honor Foundation to use original backgrounds from the 1984-1985 series, so this new animation is as accurate as possible. We will premiere the “The Curse of the Three Terrors” at 10pm on Wednesday July 20th, at the corner of 8th Ave. and G in downtown San Diego, directly across the street from this year’s Skeletor’s Lair pop-up shop! Afterwards, “The Curse of the Three Terrors” will be available August 1st for download on iTunes and Google Play for $1.99.

As for new and exciting products, I wonder what other secrets we might have up our sleeves for all of you…?

(There was an image here of a classic MOTU silhouette along with the Super7 and Masters logos)

Okay, so Super7 is taking over the distribution of collectors' lines for Mattel. I have to wonder if that silhouetted image means that they'll be doing actual retro-style MOTU now, as well. Super7 seems like a good bunch and they are fans but the limited nature of some of their releases really, really has me worried about what they'll come up with and *how* limited they'll end up being... I would guess that Thundercats will also fall under this deal but what of the DC and WWE stuff that Mattel had said would be coming back to Matty?...

Bye bye Matty. I wonder what kind of price cuts they will put on the remaining DC figures in their inventory?

I got this too. What does this mean for the future of ThunderCats?

Thundercats is done. I now regret buying the SDCC exclusive since we're not getting the whole team anyway

I've yet to be able to get one the SDCC sets, and this makes me wonder if I should even bother.

Makes me regret subbing too. It could have been an awesome set though. :(

No sale prices right now Joe. I just took a look. There is free shipping though.

Less money I have to spend. I'm good. BTAS was going to make me broke in 2017 anyways.

This is what I'm waiting to here on. Only last year they said they have a big plan for it that will be quite encompassing, can't see how they didn't know this change was on the horizon when they said that. If all we get is the main cats and mutants I'll be happy. Would I like more, obviously, but to call time with only half a dozen characters is just crazy.

Something tells me that the 'cats will be going to Super7, too. Seriously, if they don't make any announcement that the line is continuing there will be a huge number of subs that will be cancelled one way or another.

EDIT: So much for my wishful thinking... Thundercats is done... :(

Wow what a bunch of crap! I was so looking forward to the T-Cats classic figures.

After that Thundercats week with the stories Daniel posted about the 2011 line I was sad they didn't get all those toys out. At least they would have gotten to the mutants and the RoBears, Driller and a few other characters in the 4 inch line.

I knew this was gonna happen. It always happens with Thundercats. The screwed up classics figs changing scale for the last toy line, never finishing anything, and now this.

I passed on the Matty figs anyway. I don't need that little twerp in my life, and I am glad he will be dead soon! It's more fun when you think of him as a person.

The best Thundercats stuff that has come out in the last 20 years are the Minimates. At least I have a full team of them!

BCYA - I totally hear you on that my friend. I'm happy to have all the T-Cats minimates. You have all the Thundercats and mutants. I would have loved more of those sets like the Lunataks or a set with the allies like Snowman and Hachiman but I'm happy with what they did produce.
