DCUC Adam Strange & Starfire. I still don't get it. What is it about these two characters that makes Mattel decide they should be direct from Mattel website instead of sold at retail? Would they not sell as good or better than some of the others? Any insights on this?

No idea. I'm as baffled by it as you are. With Starfire, perhaps it's the fact that she's barely clothed? Other than that, I don't know. Haven't they released Adam Strange in DCIH?

My guess is they threw darts at some pictures. Neither of these figures is less obscure than anything being released to retail.

I believe it's soley because of Starfire being scantily clad. Adam Strange is just thrown in as to get him out there, and free up space in later waves. I believe they didn't pack another Titan with Starfire because the Titans could probably do pretty well at retail.

I get the feeling most people will want Classic versions of both, and I fully expect to see them in the regular line. This could be an experiment to see how the Modern versions do in a smaller market.

The differences between the modern and the classic Perez versions are so minor (change the thigh-high boots to mid calf, etc.), that I'll be really surprised if they make another version of Starfire.

Well, most of the other characters released have been on a cartoon (Superfriends, JLU, The Batman or will appear in the Brave and the Bold.) These are probably two characters that moms won't recognize as well. Although it is strange both of them are in the Infinate Heroes line.

Stafire had a completely different costume in Teen Titans Go. a lot less revealing.
With DCIH, Starfire and Adam Strange were sold in packs with other characters. I guess Mattel doesn't have faith that these two are characters that could sell as 6 inch single figures in the retail setting...and Killer Moth will??????

Adam Strange is a Wave 1 single carded figure.

I don't know very much about Adam Strange. What major DC Comics stories has he been a part of and what is his relationship with the JLA? When was he a member?
