Am I the only one who thinks that Thundercats are going to be a big reveal this year at SDCC? I'm really hoping to see them on display while I'm there. The Four Horsemen keep talking about about their huge workload at the moment since voting for the Raven got delayed. I'm sure MotUC and DCUC take up a lot of time, but I have a feeling they've banged out a couple of figures and will have the first release of these figures later in the year.

Thundercats would be nice, but It's realy not that many characters to get me excited about a new line.

All the more reason they should do it. It's not like it'd be a ton of extra work:)
Honestly, I'm all for a new Thundercats line. I'd actually like to see them in 2 scales... A MOTU type scale, and a Super Powers type scale.

I would love them to do a Thundercats line, but I would also hate them for doing it, as I know I'd end up in the poor house. I only ever collected JLU then I saw DCUC and was won over. All the MOTUC stuff is so good they got me on board, and I know the same will happen if Lion-O and his pals get the 4H treatment, but I don't know how the hell I'm gonna be able to afford yet another line!!!
Oh well, looks like I'm gonna have to sell that spare Kidney I was saving!

Mattel does not have the license. Warners wants way too much for it, so it's in limbo for now as far as toys.
Peace,
Chip

I was wondering when this thread was going to pop back up. It seems to come back out just a bit before every major convention or so.

I'm not even old enough to know what these are so I'm going to say I don't care to see them.

Beat it, kid. The adults are talking about THEIR toys.

Thunder ...
Thunder ...
ThunderCats HO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eye of Thunderra, Give me sight beyond sight...
Schnarff, schnarff ...
With lines like these, do you really need to question why we want the toys to come back???
Besides, Cheetara is an anthropomorphic hottie.

I was going to say the same thing...it seems like every year for about the last five years someone always says ..."I just KNOW they are coming this year!" and they never arrive.
I get the cost of the license and I am sure it's a premium, but it's always confusing to me why people don't WANT to make money...I mean, Warners is generating ZERO toy dollars right now, so why not put the license to work and let Mattel crank out some toys to generate interest in a cartoon or movie property? It is how I felt about the Venture Brothers...why the delay? But, now they are coming, so who knows, maybe Mattel will work some magic and get this put into motion.
In terms of there not being enough characters to sustain this line...well, I kind of thought the same thing about the MOTU line. Sure, you have the 9 Thundera Cats plus Snarf...and then you have all the Evil Mutants....but then you have Berzerkers and Berbils and tons of other New Thundera inhabitants. Plus you have concept characters, animation characters that never got toys plus comic book creations...I am quite certain that Mattel could draw on a fairly deep well of characters to give this line some serious longevity...
I am kind of getting out of the collecting game, but I will watch eagerly to see what the 4H would come up with...I'm certain it would be spectacular.

I AM old enough and I could care less. I'd rather see the 4 Horsemen take on SWAT Kats than Thundercats.

OK, I know that Cartoon Network showed reruns of Thundercats even up to around 2000, maybe longer.
I'm 21, not close to being old enough to watch Thundercats in its heyday. How in the world does someone on a "nerd board" not know what the Thundercats are?
To stretch out the line they should include Silverhawks (PLEASE) and they might as well throw in the Tigersharks (not as cool as Silverhawks or Thundercats, but eh.....)

I agree with you 100%
but I bet anything, if they was to do a new cartoon series then we would see a new line in no time

Warners does NOT "Want too much for it." The license is attached to the new animated series currently in development. It's looking like BanDai will nail the license. Do NOT expect classics styled figures. They will be based on the new designs.
