But did they indicate if any new sculpting will be done, at least for the headsculpts to make them look like their cartoon versions? Or is Mattel simply going to repaint the existing realistic versions of the figures in cartoon colors just as some customizers have already done? I'm betting it's the latter. There's no way Mattel is going to invest another dime in new sculpting/tooling costs for this line -- and if they DO, then it should be for more movie-based characters. :(

Gross. If they're thinking of using the 30th anniversary of the movie to launch halfass repaint cartoon versions of the movie figures who look nothing like their cartoon likenesses, I truly and honestly hope they don't sell a single flooving one of them.

The display cards at SDCC said September. Couldn't find photos in our galleries but very clear shots here...

Well, this was unexpected. But I'm happy that we can finish the set off.

Yes, a welcome surprise. I'll go ahead and get it, even though I'm already set on upgrading my GBs to DST's new 7" line, especially since it has a "build-a-set" incentive to build Gozer's rooftop (something Mattel should have done to encourage more sales).

Is Egon coming with a ghost?

There's no mention of a ghost in the press release and both of the brothers have already been released so I would guess "no" *but* the description for the MOTUC figures doesn't mention their swappable body parts, either, so until they show a packaged version of Egon it's just a guess.

EDIT: Looked up a video to compare the figure with as there are a lot of complaints over on the Matty boards and they figure is far from "accurate". The suit is too light in color and he should be wearing a sweater vest...

Not sure I agree about the color, but yeah, the vest would have been an easy add as a small piece of vinyl (especially if they're saving money with no ghost).

I fixed the problem before Mattel could make a problem.

Well, well, well... Since Courtroom Egon isn't coming with a ghost they've packed him out with a ton of 'bustin' equipment...

Haha... he comes with the toaster! That's great. Those extra accessories totally make up for a lack of another ghost. I guess it's a nice way to finish off the line as best as Mattel could. Although personally I'm just eager to see more of DST's new Ghostbusters figures instead. That may end up being the superior line, giving us what Mattel was unwilling to produce. The "build a playset" rooftop for Gozer's temple is a huge step in the right direction.

It's hard to see but it looks like the sweater vest has been painted on afterall...

You can see it best around the 3:30 mark when he's going through the articulation.

Is that magnifying glass the same sculpt as the one from Elongated Man?...

Oh man. They actually put "In memory of Harold Ramis" on the outer box.

It's strange I hadn't noticed this until now, or maybe not since I never bought any of the GB2 figures, but it's kind of weird they didn't change the packaging for the two movies. The terror dogs and stay puft weren't in 2. Seems like they could've made one with the Statue of Liberty where stay puft is and maybe rivers of pink slime where the terror dogs are. It doesn't really matter, but it is kinda odd.
