My Christmas wish Walmart 5pk would fill in some major holes quite nicely.
A DCUC Flash and Rogues 5pk. A Wally West Flash with Heatwave, Mirror Master, Trickster, and classic Boomerang.
Heck I'd even be up for full price on that one.

Nothing wrong with the modern Boomerang. But I grew up with the classic Flash Rogues and those are the looks I enjoy. The line was called DC Universe Classics after all. I've never even read a story with Boomer in his modern Suicide Squad look. But I'm sure many are more thrilled to have him than I am. At least we got another Flash Rogue.

Captain Boomerang is my favourite DCUC figure. Gorgeous sculpt. But I'd also buy a classic version in an instant!
I'd like to see Mirror Master next. He's essentially had the same costume from 1959-2011, so it's one everybody should be pleased with. Mr Element's costume is pretty timeless as well. Abra Kadabra absolutely has to have the classic look (used as recently as Flash Rebirth), it's perfect.

But, I know that he's been as much of a fan of the Flash as I am, and have read elsewhere that he owns a complete run of the Silver Age to present of Flash. If he were a collector of these toys, I'm 100% certain he would have rather of had the "classic" version of Captain Boomerang. It seems ridiculous and rude to put blame on someone else when you don't get what you want.

I'm quite pleased with this Captain Boomerang figure. I'd like a taller Captain Cold but I know it won't happen as a single pack.
So...how about a Flash 6-pack! I gave thought into how Mattel can re-use existing parts as much as possible)
1) Mirror Master (basic body. Black Adam forearms. New belt, upper torso and head)
2) Modern Weather Wizard (basic body except for upper torso and head)
3) Modern Heatwave (all new sculpt)
4) James Jesse Trickster. (Alan Scott body with new head, left hand and lower leg parts to include air walker shoes)
5) Height Corrected Captain Cold (just make the legs, arms and ab joint a smidgen longer)
6) Wally West Flash
I know I listed modern looks but I will also support classic look. Still, I think these looks for WW and Heatwave are fun too I would have wanted to put in Pied Piper but he'd be a totally new sculpt and I figure we'd only get one of those. Maybe as part of the subscription? I figured I'd have to resort to customs for Doc Alchemy, Golden Glider and the Top.

It seems ridiculous and rude to put blame on someone else when you don't get what you want. So you think that Geoff Johns has zero say on what characters and costumes are made in DC Classics, and I'm just bitter? The fact is, as Johns has risen to power at DC, he's revamped/resurrected many classic characters and concepts along the way - Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Aquaman, among others, including Captain Boomerang. And of course, the wonderful golden goose that is Blackest Night. As the Chief Creative Officer of DC, it's ignorant to deny Johns influence has spread to the DCUC toyline. Why do you think we saw these figures the final waves of DCUC?: Blue Lantern Flash White Lantern Flash White Lantern Hal Jordan Black Lantern Lantern Hal Jordan Black Lantern Abin Sur modern Star Sapphire Star Sapphire Wonder Woman Green Lantern movie G'Hu Orange Lantern Lex Luthor Indigo Tribe Atom another Sinestro Sinestro Corps Arkillo Sinestro Corps Maash Sinestro Corps Low Sinestro Corps Batman Sinestro Corps Scarecrow Sinestro Corps Despotellis Red Lantern Skallox Red Lantern Night Lik Red Lantern Dex-Starr Black Hand Nekron modern Anti-Monitor Kobra Magog Hawk & Dove Stargirl STRIPE Swamp Thing and, of course, modern Captain Boomerang Coincidence? These are all characters and costumes directly from the books he is/was writing. Even the oft-requested Reverse Flash has the scepter from Flash:Rebirth. Trust me, I get it. DC editorial wants the merchandise to reflect the current comics, and the toys promote the comics and the comics promote the toys, etc, etc. It makeS sense from a business perspective. As a vip with DC, Johns, along with Didio and others, have every right to make decisions that they feel are in best interests of the company. But I'm skeptical. The new DC is focused on making movies and promoting the Hot New Thing, so these decisions have forever changed characters that many fans appreciated, like Wally West, Kyle Rayner, and Connor Hawke. My statements are not "ridiculous" or "rude" - it's just basic logic. And it really sucks for fans of classic characters, like Captain Boomerang. Do they look outdated and silly? Of course. But that doesn't mean they should be forgotten and discarded.

My point is, while I'm not inside the man's head, I think he would have preferred a "classic" look to Capt Boomerang, him being a noted fan of the silver age Flash.
The statement that Mattel or DC for that matter is going out of their way to appease one person in character and look selection, seems ridiculous to me. Some of the top selling DC comics of the past 5-10 years have had his stamp on it. Wouldn't any company pander to the buyers of the majority? As for calling it rude, I would like to retract that and apologize.
In the end what do I know. I just buy toys and read comics.

As an '80s Suicide Squad fan, I always liked Captain Boomerang as a loathsome villain even other villains hated. However, but I greatly prefer his modern costume, and think it makes a better figure than the old puffy sleeved-shirt, fast food/stewardess hat, and Larry Fine hair. Some costumes are timeless classics, but others, like short-pants Robin, Martian Manhunter, and Captain Boomerang, were in desperate need of updating.

I'd like to see the classic look, but mostly because the modern one we got is a Seth Green figure.
