I..cannot...restrain...myself.
A $40 or $50 three pack is flat-out ridiculous. $30 would be ridiculous, but I guess I would pony up and buy at that price. Why would these theoretical three packs need to be so blatantly overpriced? Lobo? SOLD OUT! S.T.R.I.P.E.? SOLD OUT! The last two Matty three packs? SOLD OUT!!! I think the pricing for JLU items on Matty is fair enough for both fans and Mattel's always-hungry coffers. A fifty dollar three pack with the possibility of repeat or repainted figures is ludicrous at those prices.
Luthoriac and The General would be oversized figures most likely. I could maybe see whatever set they would have to come with being $40. Beyond that, nope.

Yeah, at $20-$25 PLUS shipping, it's already stretching it. $30 would be the max. But $40-$50? I'm sorry, even I'd probably be out at that point.
For the oversized figures, that price would be stretching it too. Again, $30 would be the max. For $40-$50, I better get something fandamntastic.

If it gets me the final unreleased figures, I'd pay it. Better than any amount you'd pay on ebay for "prototypes." If that was their price for ongoing new figures in the line? Hmmm... Perhaps but I'd either want them released in groups to save on shipping or stretched out to allow me time to raise funds.

Okay, but at $35-$40 you can pay a customizer to make you one and do it correctly ala Stew's corrections to Dr Destiny. I'm just saying...
I just can't see myself paying $40-$50 PLUS shipping for these. And I'm probably one of the most diehard collectors there is.

I think we can all agree that we're hoping that ISN'T a price tag in our future. Speaking of customs, the Guff may be close to finishing the "STRIPE/Win a JLU Custom" figure

Yeah, I've seen the WIP pics. Looks fantastic. I'm about halfway done with the ones I've been working on.
Like I said, I wouldn't be opposed to some price increase. I know some would and that's fine. But when you start pushing it to $40 for a three pack, at that point diminishing returns has to set in. It simply isn't worth it.

The only way I'd pay something like $50+ a pack is if it was a three pack of something like... The Annihilator robot Giant-Sized Long Shadow Giant-Sized Mordru In a way it kind of be cool if they did this lol, on a super-sized three foot 3-pack card and all.

Yeah, hearing about about those drawing board characters doesn't hit me the way the loss of Dr. Destiny and Firefly did. Probably because we've never actually seen them or they weren't tooled already. Firefly AND Destiny keep popping up on eBay at ridiculous prices and I think Mattel needs to get it together with those two at least.
So, yeah, three-packs and the missing six-pack. Then I'm good.

So, yeah, three-packs and the missing six-pack. Then I'm good. I agree...If a" Flames of Fear" three pack featuring Volcana, Firefly and Dr Destiny was the very last JLU offering...well then I'd be ok with JLU ending. (uhm...after a withdrawl period) Unless of course somehow TRICKSTER made it out ...then all bets are off!!!

Thanks for the pictures. Dang, Johnny Thunder is HUGE. I knew it going in, but it's still rather startling. And Thunderbolt is pretty tiny. I'll probably stick with my Johnny custom, but I'm still glad to have him.
