She does look cool. I think the 4H would do a great job on her.

Aren't there about 60 other characters that NEED to be made in the line ahead of a character that was in the background of a mini-comic?

I think that character looks cool and would look cool as a toy. I have no frame of reference for how obscure she is (I collect MOTUC cause they're cool toys, but I don't know squat about MOTU). This image of her is pretty awesome: Is there a good MOTU resource with lists of characters that include images and what the source material is? He-Man.org has a character database type thing, but it doesn't always have pics (or enough of them, or big ones), and it doesn't really list where that version comes from. In a thread on He-Man.org (I think started by Darkspecter), there is a list of the different sources for MOTU characters: - 80's MOTU - Mini-Comics/DC Comics - PoP - NA - 200X/MYP/MVC - Unproduced concepts - Filmation Mattel Doesn't Have the Rights to Yet: - 80's Movie - Marvel Comics - Golden Books/UK Annuals/All other books I'd love a resource that shows which characters are unique, or primarily from which specific sources.

Mattel needs to spread out the line though so it doesn't die. If they keep shooting out A-lister after A-lister, it will. Illumina is a fan-demanded character who isn't an A-lister. Characters like her help keep this line going. Also, Mattel has said that they can only do about 1 "100% tooled" character a year. Ram-Man is a 100% tooled character. They NEED to be able to do characters that require little to no tooling so they can make the 100% tooled figures. To make Illumina and her cat they need to make the following: - Illumina head - double spear staff - two piece dress - Cat head piece Illumina's cat can share the Griffon's saddle (or Clawdeens if/when they get to her because it's so similar). Heck, if the 4H are really clever with their sculpting skills, Spirit (if/when they get to him) and Illumina's cat can share the head piece as they're nearly identical. That's only 4-5 new pieces to make two full characters. This would make a lot of fans happy, crank out two characters at once and bring us closer to someone like Ram-Man. Also, a two pack of them would take up a beast slot and not a character slot, which is even better!

In a thread on He-Man.org (I think started by Darkspecter), there is a list of the different sources for MOTU characters:
- 80's MOTU - Mini-Comics/DC Comics - PoP - NA - 200X/MYP/MVC - Unproduced concepts - Filmation
Mattel Doesn't Have the Rights to Yet: - 80's Movie - Marvel Comics - Golden Books/UK Annuals/All other books
I'd love a resource that shows which characters are unique, or primarily from which specific sources. Honestly, it's hard to find lists and images of all the potential characters. There are a few threads on He-Man.org you might be able to find through the MOTUC Index thread where people tried to compile lists. In my .org album I compiled pretty much every single unique character from the MVC comics. They can only be viewed if you have a He-Man.org log in though. Here's the index thread: http://he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?t=203108About the books, Mattel actually does have the rights to the Golden Books now. That came to them when they got access to Filmation. They *might* have access to the U.K. stuff. They aren't certain on that. They still do not have access to the Marvel MOTU comics though. Also, the image you found is the only "official" Illumina image. That was to be the cover of Volume 3, Issue 4 of the MVC comics. It was advertised in Issues 1, 2 and 3. Then Mattel instituted a "no new characters" policy and limited the amount of characters that could be used (because the 2002 toyline and cartoon weren't doing well at the time, I guess). Everything was ready, but it never made it to print. Illumina has become a cult favourite and people have loved her for nearly 10 years now. Here's the last of the three advertisements:

She would be an Evil-Lyn repaint with a new head so from that perspective she'd be easy to do and looks very MOTU. There are probably 15-20 solid characters left, but she's no better or worse than the few dozen remaining c-listers they still need to get to.

I think a lot of the demand for her to be made is also as a thank you to Val and Emiliano for the work they did on those comics and for the MOTU community (plus the character would look great as an MOTUC figure). She gets my vote.

I have no objections - it's a cool looking character. I'd still want Ram Man first though.

She's towards the bottom of my list, but I'd take her way before Snout Spout, Clamp Champ, and Rio Blast. LOL Ram Man is my #1 want, and has been since the start. It's killing me that we don't have him yet.
