I agree. Glad to see Mattel is keeping this license.

While the thought of Hasbro handling a 3.75 inch DCU line is appealing, I really enjoy DCUC and the 4H's work. So I consider this pretty good news.

Of course-- I will be accused of being a Mattel Hater (I do like the overpriced YJ line (which they are correcting for once))-- But I am saddened a good 3-3/4 Batman and others will not be battling my Joes, Marvel and SW figs.. not to mention their constant mishandling of all their lines and distribution chains which continue to be horrible (other than with the initial wave release).. So I am not happy-- especially since next year we will be flooded with horrible and cheap looking batman movie toys, (and the year after crappy superman )
and as far the Four Horseman- they are just contractors that Mattel hires-- (although they would be insane to every try and continue on without them)- if the 4h ever upped their asking price during their next contract (which personally unless this is just a pure labor of love- why shouldnt they) and the bean counters decided it wasnt worth it----- how would the toylines fair with in house sculptors (Im looking at Batman,GL and Superman Mass Market figures- not very well....)

I've been getting burnt out on DC Universe Classics so I guess I welcome a more focused, slimmed down line like Batman Legacy or what-have-you (just not the horrible distribution and case-packouts)
I too dream of a Marvel Universe-style 3 3/4 inch line from Mattel. I wish this could happen. It seems like a no-brainer. Hopefully they gain enough distance from the failure of DCIH (and I would embark to say the GL 4 inch line as well. They are not great.) to launch a proper 3.75 inch line in a year or two. I hope!

see my problem is I have a HUGE DC 6" collection already, I have no reason to want to start over in a 3 3/4" scale. I hope Mattel makes a good one for you guys, but if Hasbro would have gotten DC rights, 6" figures would be few and far and that would make me a sad collector

I'm a DC fan to the death, but I got into comics via my older brother who was a Marvel junkie, so I can fully appreciate the Marvel universe and it's character pool (I was a big Spidey fan as a kid and remember seeing my older brothers Secret Wars poster and being in awe of the characters on it) so I do wish there was a cool DC line to go with the Marvel Universe line. But, as a collector, I'm happy only having to track down JLU, DCUC and MOTUC and if Mattel were to make a decent 4" line I would be hard pressed to justify getting that as well. So I'm happy that they have the license again and hope they use it just for comic and animated figures.

Ah, more mismanagement and fewer DC 3.75" figures. Well, the world is nothing if not consistent. What a disappointment.

I really would like Mattel to return to 3 3/4" scale figures to add to my DC Infinite Heroes collection. I used to buy them up like crazy!
As for the Green Lantern Movie figures, I PASSED on them because of the ugly sculpts related to the movie costumes. If Mattel had inserted some comic book based figures, I might have bought those.
I am also PASSING on the 4 1/2" scale Young Justice figures as they are too expensive and too tall for my DCIH collection.
If Mattel does not make any more 3 3/4" scale figures, I hope that DC Direct will release a 3 3/4" scale line. I have the 3 1/2" scale figures that DC Direct has been releasing with the DC Comics/Warner Bros. Animated Movie Special Editions that are sold at BEST BUY. All DC Direct has to do is switch to 3 3/4" scale and add some more articulation to the figures.

This seems to be summed up quite easily:
DCUC collectors - Yay! Collectors of any other DC line Mattel produces - Boo!
I'm happy with the announcement, I collect just the 6-inch guys and Action League. I would like to see a decent 3 3/4 inch line, but I wouldn't be able to afford it as well.
Now I'm just waiting to see what next year brings.

Yeah, I'm going to pretend you're the exception that proves the rule.
My theory still stands!
