The question is... How did the 7 pack do?

I think we all know nothing truly 'sold out'.

EVERYTHING on Matty is listed as "sold out."

Even Swamp Thing, Superboy, and that Latino stereotype that nobody wanted El Dorado (he's my favorite out of the three in that wave!) are "sold out." It's like Digital River can't be bothered to leave certain things up for sale when taking down other sale items. It's all or nothing.



I'd say the performance of the seven-pack is a solid "meh."

Ah, the age old debate about "what does 'sold out' mean to Matty?" Usually followed by "What's the difference between 'sold out' and 'gone forever'?"

More weirdness to follow, I'm sure.

Does anyone really care about Matty's terminology anymore?
Its general consensus that their tags don't mean anything other than "you can't buy this right now, maybe later you can".

Why is this even a conversation?

I brought it up because now that the 7 pack is 'Sold Out' or unavailable, or whatever... That's it. The votes are in, the numbers are known. Was it enough to justify the release of anymore packs online?

The real question is what is the big 2012 announcement they had for JLU and did the 7-pack sales matter at all in regards to that.

Yup. I agree. I think that's what most of us who are still waiting for JLU news is wondering if this made a difference.

I'm skeptical about the 2012 announcement. It could be something as lame as a clearance sale, not announcement of new product.

Exactly. All I really care about is did the 7-pack sell well enough to give us the missing three-packs, Firefly and Dr. Destiny.

Of course, I wouldn't be too disappointed if the 2012 announcement is they are releasing an Apokolips eight-pack of Granny Goodness, Mad Harriett, Stompa, Steppenwolf, Desaad, Kanto, Virmin Vunderbar and Bernadeth, but I figure that's unlikely.

The odd thing is everything except the Shazam pack is sold out, although nothing went to "Almost Gone" status. Of course, their sales statuses have less meaning than a sign by an unattended bowl of trick-or-treat candy saying "please take only one", but I am curious if they actually did "sell out".

I'm going with the announcement being that the new Green Lantern line is in the same style as JLU. I'd say Mongul and Guy are pretty good bets if they do them early on, then if they do show up on the actual show they can do them again but show accurate.

My big question is when are the latest convention 3 packs going to be available on Matty? I haven't been checking the forums recently. So, this may have been answered before. But, I thought they were planning on selling these on Matty before years end. Obviously this isn't the case.

Since we haven't heard anything about when these are popping up on Matty, maybe it means they may have done well enough to warrant the remaining 3 packs to be 2012 traveling convention exclusives. Since the first convention is WonderCon in March, and we found out about them at last year's toy fair in February, I'm guessing that's when we'll hear if Toy Man, Mongul, Vandal Savage, Blue Beetle, and future JLU will make their way across the country.

My true wish is that they'd repack the villains (Mongul, Toyman, Vandal Savage, Dr Destiny, Firefly, and Volcana in another "Fan Demanded 6 pack. Then do JLU, and the 2 JLI sets as the convention exclusives. I know, I know, no development costs... Yadda Yadda. But Id be happy with the exact same box and box art, with just a new inner tray.

There's no way they sold enough not to put them on MattyCollector because they didn't even attend one of the conventions they were planning on going to. They'll probably be put up with the December 15th sale.
