I'm sorry, but that Flashpoint Plastic Man question (from this site) was beyond lame. Sounds just like a disgruntled fan using shaky logic to complain about a character they didn't want. In this case, the answer from Mattel was way better than the question - that doesn't seem to happen that often.

Seems like Matty threw the JLU fans a bone in the AFi Q&A. Then subsequently shot down any chance for compatible JLU figures, with there being no plans for a GLTAS toy line in the Pendragon Q&A.

You know, not to be a Desmond Downer, but they are telling us a lot of reveals are coming up that we should get excited about, but what little news we've gotten on pretty much any of the lines that actually matter to us have, with the exception of the alternate starman head, been kinda crappy news. the dcas wave 1 reveal and the we're barely putting out ghostbusters reveal were clearly not going to make fans happy. is this spin that they're trying to sell or is there really some huge announcement for most of these lines looming on the horizon that will restore everyone's faith in these toys? ghostbusters is pretty much the only line I actively collect, and as currntly it stands, between now and [the hypothetical reaching of]2013, there are only 2 figures i'm buying. they're saying they can't even afford to pay someone to design a package to sell accessories. does that mean that it doesnt make sense financially to sell the pieces that make the figures they came with valuable until after they've sold off more of the inventory or does it mean that "this fantastic meal represents the last of the petty cash"? Cause I know that if I had a freezer full of popsicles that werent selling and you told me you wanted to buy a box of just the sticks, I'd melt off the damn fudge if I had to to sell you what you actually wanted.

They will not pass up the opportunity to make those toys unless the retailers just refuse to take it because of the GL movie crap they left hanging around. And the first few of these Q&A's are a perfect example of posters who go to every site possible and post the same questions so they can say they made an Ask Matty. AFI and Fwoosh have two questions that are word for word the same. If they keep teasing us with this JLU thing and it doesn't involve new figures and/or the release of the ones we're missing I'm going to storm Mattel headquarters.

I'm glad someone finally asked about Larfleeze versus Atrocitus. It's about time it was addressed.

The CIE announcement came months before they were ready to reveal the new wave of DC All Stars and they were trying to get people as excited as they could about the sub. The answer they gave is exactly what I thought all along.

I love that they've said that they have no plans for a GL TAS line of toys and yet we know Kilowog and Zillius Zox prototypes have shown up on ebay.

There were protos for "Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes", too, but those never got made. Same can be said of Flash, Captain Marvel, Gentleman Ghost, Dr. Polaris and Faceless Hunter for Brave and the Bold.

Anybody know why "German Fansites" get a slot for the 30th MOTUC figures? Is Germany a hotspot for He-man fandom?

That Fan's Choice poll sounds like such a raw deal anyway. I get that collectors getting to put two characters on a fan poll is an improvement over previous fan polls, but it looks so asinine that one site gets to add one, another site gets to add one, and then Mattel will add SIX. And, stacking the deck aside, eight is way too damn many for a fan poll. A character could win with just 13% percent of the vote; meaning that Mattel will then turn around and expect good sales on a figure that up to 87% of the subscribers didn't even vote for. Duh.

Quote: Andy asks: What was the reasoning behind the character selection for DCUC All Stars series 1? Because is seems to conflict with the aforementioned intent of this line which was to select mainstream characters for a broader appeal.
We are offering characters at retail that are appealing to a broad base of fans. All of the characters in the first mix are well-known characters that will appeal to retail consumers, and be exciting to fans. This answer made me literally laugh out loud.

@ Joe G. I submitted that question to Poe
@j1h15233 I didn't, however, write the AFI and Fwoosh Q concerning Flashpoint Plas which are worded differently. Multiple versions of the same question speak more to the fact that there's an issue with the customer base.
Unfortunately, we got the same corporate answer for all three. The Fwoosh and my question asked about the discrepancy between the figure and the intent of the line. AFI asked about the content of the character being safe for retail.
My dream answer? "We try our best to plan out popular figures for our fans. Unfortunately, because of the lead time necessary to get a figure produced, this is a difficult process. We're sorry if we missed the mark with Flashpoint Plastic Man, but your feedback helps us determine character selection for the future"
