Sad to see those molds will just be sitting there unused. Makes no sense to me but what do I know. Love how they used a poll that was overwhelmingly in favor of paying the extra money to justify it.
Guess Stew will be getting even more of my money. Oh well.

What I don't understand is how they go on a poll only. Yea we only had 140 some odd people answer that poll here saying they would buy them but it's not like that's their only customer base for JLU. They could have at least tried it with the next two packs in line and see how it went instead of going off poll numbers here. This whole situation was handled so poorly. If I knew they weren't going through with it unless they got 10,000 yes votes then I wouldn't have bothered at all.
Oh well, they won't stop me from getting those figures. They just won't be official versions.

Nail, meet coffin. Our long national nightmare is over. I love the JLU line, and I want the final figures as much as the next person, but the roller coaster has not been enjoyable. That said, anybody taking custom commissions?

Is anyone shocked that Matty/TG went by the poll here only? It wasnt an offical poll was it? Did TG start it? was the poll on their own site? Was it on their FB page? Did they have banner across their home page with a big JLU picture with the headline "Would you like to see JLU go on? Vote Here!!!" If so I must have missed allllll of that. Ahhh, I know Im totally shocked as to how this went down, lol. And I had no idea that AFI held that much pull that a whole lines life/death was in the hands of the members here.Wow. Gotta love the Big JLU news FanGirl 2.0 and TG alluded to was the death of the line. At least they didnt drag it out and build up hopes of fans. Better that they got it out of the way on Jan. 19th seeing as we're very deep into 2012.

Well after finally hunting down a Volcana last month, Cost me my 1st issue MOTUC He-man MOC, I have to say I'm annoyed and relieved at the same time.
I have every figure that I want, there are a few of characters that I didn't care for. But my collection is complete. So long old friend.....

Probably the "big news" was that the packs were on the table if enough people were interested.
What was the buzz like about these things at Custom Justice? I never go there. If it was talked about there like it was talked about here, and they used both of the sites as a barometer for demand, I can understand them calling it quits.
There are no sites on the Internet as passionate about JLU as AFi and Custom Justice (not even Matty's own site), so it makes perfect sense to use them as a gauge. I mean, if it's good enough to use them as a gauge for demand on which figures to make (see AFi's annual JLU polls of yore), it should also be good enough to use them as a basis for demand for a certain execution of product.

If they used CJ as a source too then the idea was dead before it was announced. Several of the guys over there are anti Mattel and TG like he murdered a family member of theirs.

One of the best and most complete lines ever. There are not many lines that end with over a few hundred unique characters. Big thanks to Mattel and Scott for keeping it going for as long as they could. The final packs just weren't viable based on the sales of the final pack. I can understand that. Wanted Mongul and Vandal Savage but not for $50. That eats into too much of my boxed G1 Transformer budget

The AFI poll was a joke and I'm appalled Mattel went by that train-wreck. If all of the people who were dumb enough to vote for the "kidney" choice actually voted yes, the results would have looked different. Maybe only by a few percentage points but having 3 and out 4 JLU fans saying they'd buy the new figures is better than slightly over 2 out of 3. It should have been yes or no. "Let's have some fun with it!" Ugh. We need to keep pestering ToyGuru about this. They should at least TRY one of the packs at a premium price. I'm really upset with them getting our hopes up if they weren't really going to follow through.
