They had R&D and tooling done for the retail orders coming from Target...possibly even some production runs were completed. Then Target pulled out. Mattel producing these is the new management team trying to break even on money already spent so they don't take a loss. They probably already have the numbers done up on how many packs to produce for sale until they break even after an (eventual) sell-out. Peace, Chip

I admit that came out badly, and I think you're right. I don't think JLU really has a future, and that wasn't the point I was trying to make anyway. I was more commenting on the attitudes I was describing.

Whatever the reason, the bottom line is that they're being produced and it's made a lot of people here happy....and happiness IS why we're all in this hobby, right? Peace, Chip

I hear Abraham Lincoln hated communists even more than he hated vampires. And he collected JLU.

Abraham Lincoln is all hype... his career only began after he was shot in the pumpkin and began the agency...

I always thought he was just a robot-- and when his joints finally went-- thats when Disney found him and bolted him into his Worlds Fair display... never to slay vampires again..Although Star Trek has shown us --one day he will go to space..
