Yes, not yer gettin' it!

Frankly I would have been happy to pick up the line if it were in style with the rest of the animated toys... Doesn't have to be JLU style specifically, but even close like BTAS would have been cool. I could see the Timm perspective in it, but the execution was off. The figures were too insect like and not robust enough compared to the cartoon.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how this always comes back to JLU. I'll just repost what I said in the main YJ thread:

Now if Mattel had marketed Young Justice the way they did the JLU, it might still be going.

Young Justice only had 4 figures per wave. I would have made the entire core team available in wave 1. I would have also gone with the JLU format of 3 figures per package and made the Hall of Justice a separate accessory for those who wanted to buy it. If you can only hook a retailer for 1 wave, you best make it a great one.

Now if Mattel had done this I would have cleared out there shelves like I did on JLU. I would go into a Target and bought all there three packs to force the computer to reorder them. It was cheaper that getting singles. I would also hit up on the singles that were not Batman/Superman. Like I said I used to spend $500 a month on JLU now with YJ I do good to spend $100.

But the core team of the Justice League was not available in wave 1. We got four of them and a repaint of Superman and Batman. Wave 2 had two more and I believe it was wave 5 before we got the team finished with Hawkgirl.

How is this any different than what they did? You got a few extra new characters in there and even more repaint characters than we already got. Not to mention that a 3-pack would have cost 25-30 bucks. The line might have died sooner.

I hope this doesn't end the show.

The show only had a season or two left anyway since apparently only shows like the Simpsons and Family guy are allowed to have more than 3 or 4 seasons.

They made a show, they made alot of the main characters and it bombed at retail. How is this their fault? That stuff was sitting on the pegs everywhere you went. Kids weren't onboard most likely so it failed. It's that simple.

Okay gotcha. So do you think that possibly there is a chance for a third season now? Now I don't think we will see any animated DC- show figures again at retail as long as mattel has the license.

It seems ironic to me because mattel was " excited " about young justice in the beginning of 2011. I wonder how they feel now about another failed line of theirs.
