If Mudd agrees with us as well -- it wont matter what Mattel does-- none of us will ever see our toys again....

Just by mentioning his name you've triggered three alarms, a google search alert and an email to his account.

In an attempt to get on the rails, has anyone seen the Batmobile at retail? TRU.com's listing has all purchasing options greeted out, and Target's 'find in store' module is showing out of stock everywhere around me.

I picked up the Batmobile at TRU weekend before last. Each store in my area got 4 per. On the plus side, I got the Surf's up Batman & Joker coming my way now, courtesy of BBTS. I wasn't expecting them U& Catwoman until later in the year, but hey, who doesn't love surprises?

I managed to get my Batmobile through Target.com. I have seen figures and 2-packs, but no Batmobiles on the pegs.

Yes, there's plenty here in Oklahoma. Saw 3 of them at one store today and 2 at another store yesterday.

Last week the pegs were full of their first bach of the single carded figures and a few of the 2packs on the shelves. All of those have disappeared from both stores here now. That suggests the line has the potential to sell really well. Too bad it's all we get since Mattel killed any prospect of more figures before it even got a chance to prove itself at retail. :(

I can't believe Walmart and some other retailers turned it down.

This raises a good point. Why didn't Mattel simply produce the 1966 Batgirl with a generic likeness, to avoid having to get Yvonne Craig's approval? Half the face is covered by a cowl anyway.

This is what they did with the Dana Barrett figure in their Ghostbusters line since Sigourney Weaver didn't release her likeness rights, so it should have been done with Batgirl too. Mattel surely knows that fans of this line would have expected and wanted Batgirl to complete the main set of characters. Now we may never get one in that purple/yellow costume. :(

They need to do 4 quarterly 2-packs on Matty next year:

Alfred and Aunt Harriet (With Red Phone under glass and Shakespeare Bust) in Library packaging.

Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara (With Red Phone and Clue) in City Hall packaging.

Batgirl vs. Egghead (With glass egg and pedestal) in Museum packaging.

King Tut and Louie the Lilac (with ball and chains) in Prison Packaging.

Honestly... Alfred, Commissioner, and Louie all use the generic suit body. Chief OHara can use the Honor Guard Joker from Movie Masters body. And Aunt Harriet and King Tut could (conceivably) share same elements. These are low-cost, HIGHLY Desired sets.

Then give us one last wave at retail with a Otto Premenger Mr. Freeze, David Wayne Mad Hatter, Maleki Throne FalseFace, and Roddy McDowell's Bookworm.

I haven't seen any Batman '66 anything anywhere, except for the Batman and Catwoman Barbies once at Target.
