It's the new design that has me interested as well.

Jim_Abell wrote: The problem with "that" Hawkman is that he's the same version as was available in wave 6 (was it?...) and then as an "All-Star" after that, he was over-abundant thoughout a good part of the line and if you don't want a variant Stratos there's no point in getting him (and that's not counting the wave 19 JSA Hawkman which isn't that different, either). The new one, on the other hand, looks considerably different and is one of the few new52 designs that people don't seem to have any or much of a problem with. Yeah, I get it. The Unlimited Hawkman is a different version. But I just never figured the general public to be into Hawkman variants. Well, not as much as they are into Batman & Superman variants. Collectors... yes. Kids, parents & grandparents... well, being that they are not buying as many toys as they used to, I just figured they were more likely to pick one version, and that would be "their" Hawkman. (Which, as you mentioned, they've had plenty of opportunities to do already.) Anyways, time will tell. Let's hope Hawkman sells through. (But I still can't help wonder if Wonder Woman would've been more suited to help Superman "anchor" these first relaunch figures. You know... on account that when it comes to the general public, she's still considered "A-list".)

At least Wonder Woman is in wave 2 (if it ever makes it out, you know how that can go...) with the Injustice Batman (which will sell just because it's Batman).

Well, that's why it's one per case. Which means scalpers eyes open and they try to get their grubby little fingers on it. I don't really care about the Mattel New 52 figures because I already have the DC Collectibles New 52 figures - but I will pick up Hawkman, Batgirl, and whoever else Mattel makes that DC hasn't made or isn't planning on making. That is why I personally want Hawkman. Haven't read his new, soon to be cancelled comic at all - but I still want him as part of my New 52 collection.

Batgirl's a buy for me as well. Hopefully, she won't be one per case.

Found the first wave of DC and Batman unlimited among the Target reset this week. I picked up Flash and Hawkman. Both solid figs. I like Flash with the lightning attachments. I have the new 52 Supes and Bats already, I'm just not really feeling the need to recollect all these figures. Pretty sure I'm just gonna cherry pick from here on out

At least he is in the cases my store got... Current breakdown seems to be 3x Batman, 2x Penguin, 1x Batgirl and 3x Superman, 2x Flash, 1x Hawkman.

Walked into Target and It was exciting to see actual new DC toys. I got a Penguin and I like him more than the the DCUC Wave 1. Now I have to decide whether to keep the Wave 1 figure. I saw 1 Hawkman, 1 Batgirl, 2 Supes, 2 Bats and 2 Flash and 2 Penguin. I already have Superman and Batgirl and paid way too much on ebay but she's worth it, great figure. Superman too. I'm going to pass on Hawkman and Flash. Awesome figures, I just don't need more versions of those guys and I don't want to go all out for the New52.
Now I hope they just follow through with Wonder Woman. I'm still not too happy about them skipping out on her Classic All-Star figure a year ago. To make up for that, she better be abundant and easy to find!

I doubt she will be, sadly. I, too, had good luck at Target yesterday and managed to snag a Hawkman. A buddy got me Batgirl, so I'm done with DC Unlimited for now. Man, two figures and I'm finished. What a change from having to track down entire waves!

Oklahoma's Man of Steel wrote: I still don't get why Mattel does this: produce an inferior version of a DC Direct figure, and expect people to shell out $17-$20 for it. I'll admit that the only time this kind of worked was for Yellow Lantern Scarecrow; every other figure, not so much. I think Hawkman could be popular because his costume is pretty badass now....
