So is this a figure discussion thread?--- if not I think there is already one of these in the Entertainment thread....

I hope this becomes an action figure thread! I want it to be a subline from Imaginext and show accurate. Cyborg needs friends. I'd like an anime Robin and Starfire.

Yes, lets talk toys here. With Cyborg featured front and center in the DC Superfriends art, I hope we get to see Robin and others from this show in the line. And expanded beyond the base 5 with characters like Kid Flash.

A Slade would work well in Imaginext Teen Titans as a badguy with the core 5 following Cyborg.

No offense but the Teen Titans had their show for 5 seasons and a toy line... WB should have given us something new or at least a newer version of Justice League! This "chibi" style just seems a little less thought out.

While I agree that TTG had a previous show, one of the stated goals I heard for the DC Nation animated shorts was to identify possible future shows. Someone must have liked this set of shorts and it got picked up as a show.
With Young Justice ending, and us not getting any more toys from that show, I am focusing my hopes of a broad based DC line now on this show. Because of the prior show, there is already a fan base and retailers already have a familiarity with the property. Might make i an easier sell to licensing partners (like Mattel). I'm still amazed that years after Justice League/Unlimited went off the air I was able to buy JL/U school supplies yet there was never any of that for Young Justice.
If we can get Cartoon Network to air this on a regular basis - without major blocks of time with zero episodes run - we might get a decent variety of product, not just action figures, but the other stuff some of us like to collect. Besides, I need some new pencils, my JL ones are getting kind of short.

How did TTG get reborn but the Super Best Friends Forever didn't get a shot? Those shorts have consistently been the best. I'm imagining 15 minute shows like Adventure Time. It could end up as big as MLP. Okay, maybe nearly as good. The Ponies are HUGE now.

Up until the Avengers toyline, I'd agree with new. But now, Hasbro seems to be doing the same crap Mattel is.

This "chibi" style just seems a little less thought out. Are you saying Justice League didn't have a shot as a cartoon in recent years? The animation of Teen Titans grew on me because I really got into the story lines. If they can keep that level of story up then the new show should be cool. Hopefully that means in five years Young Justice has a shot of continuing on again.

Teen Titans has 5 core characters in the original Teen Titans seasons. Cyborg and Robin are already in DC Imaginext. That only leaves Beastboy, Starfire, and Raven to complete the entire lineup. The more I think about it the more I want this to happen. One thing that the toys need to do is add in women. Raven would be awesome in Imaginext! Tera! Starfire! If they could manage to sneak in an Artemis that’d be cool too. The Imaginext DC line already has more women than the rest of the Imaginext lines or the competing Playskool Adventure Marvel Heroes. Recent additions of Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn look great but are still hard to find at retail. I’m hoping they’ll finally be widely available when the Man of Steel Imaginext hits shelves. Superman is cool, but I’m more excited about Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn joining my Catwoman. Adding other female heroes would be awesome. Hawkgirl and Supegirl, and Wondergirl would be cool, but Starfire and Raven would both be excellent. Plus the random Artemis. One great aspect of both the DC Imaginext line and the Playskool Marvel line is the villains. DC has great Imaginext villians: Joker, Penguin, etc although it is very Bat focused. Zod coming out with Man of Steel is cool. Slade? Slade would be awesome.

I hate to sound like a broken record but this is another failure imo. I give it 2 seasons tops. They (DC) need to get it through their heads that the Justice League is what needs to be on the TV and in movies and in the action figure isles. Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman then you can insert whoever after that. They need to do what Marvel has done with Avengers as they just don't have the characters to compete with any of the other groups/characters Marvel has.
