Looks like the meter was updated today, and now it's just barely ankle high. Pretty discouraging. I seriously doubt we'll hit Tier 2. I really wanted Unleashed Doomsday. :(

Both of those Doomsdays look like they're built off of the Kilowog body. Even the containment suit version looks to be a massive amount of new tooling for those hoses and all but I guess that is cheaper than engineering the new body parts that would be needed to attach all of those spikes into.

Over a month into the sub sale and less than a month to go and the meter is only ankle high. I wish they did something like the 4H Ravens Kickstarter. I believe real time goal progression works as an incentive itself. Waiting a week or more for a meter update doesn't work, and if a person is on the fence but never sees the meter move, then why bother. It's like voter fatigue on the west coast. If I'm going to re-up for the sub, then I want to see my little contribution raise the meter.

Showing 3 figures and announcing a figure that we wanted but won't get is not enough.

I told ToyGuru that we need to see Granny Goodness as well to push the sub.
He replied there is no money for new sculpts until 2015 if we hit tier 2 now.

Yea they said that same thing last year too...and yet they're offering Doomsday...a figure who should have been a CnC before Metamorpho, Despero, Chemo, Imperiex, Trigon, Validus, Nekron and Apache Chief.

And remember that they tell us that the figures in the club were planned out 1-2 years ago.
So who knows what we may find in future reveals.

Yeah right. More leftovers from the cancelled retail lines. You really believe they planned Batzarro for the sub instead of the now cancelled Batman Unlimted line? I bet they are holding Damien Wayne for the sub now too.

See, If they actually did put Damian in the sub, I'd be happier and sign up right away. I am signing up for the sub and I want Damian more than stupid boy or ice. However, Superboy and ice are pretty cool

I'll be re-upping on Friday. For all the good it'll do. I really don't want that tier 1 Doomsday, and I don't think there's a chance in hell that we'll get to tier 2.

According to Toyguru, none of the subs are doing well:
https://www.facebook.com/notes/mattycollectorcom/update-ecto-1-subscriptions/10151608799333401

He also had the nerve to compare these shenanigans to a Kickstarter campaign which has a clear and specific numerical goal and updates in real time. They talk about times and circumstances changing but fail to realize how little sympathy a billion dollar company gets in 2013.

It was nice while it lasted. I'll just fill the holes in my collection with DC Collectibles products and then call it a day. I doubt the new 6" lines geared to kids will be as comprehensive as JLU or DCUC so I'll likely skip them. I want the 4" figures but the character designs they are selling to us do not appeal to me.

I am really developing a loathing for Scott (ToyGuru) with all these weak excuses he keeps making, repeatedly casting blame on us the collectors instead of taking on some of the blame/responsibility for Mattel. His smug appearance on a recent episode of Toy Hunter really irritated me too.

At this point, just let all their subs fail for all I care. I'm sick of the games and manipulation, as well as what they've done with the retail lines. My money will be better spent with Neca, Hot Toys, Sideshow, and Gentle Giant since Mattel clearly doesn't want it.

What was wrong with his Toy Hunter appearance? He came across as a typical fan boy. I'm sensing a serious sour grapes vibe.

I highly doubt Toyguru has a tenth of the influence you think he does. The bean counters hold the strings. Who is he supposed to blame? He might be just as pissed at his bosses as you are, but at the end of the day, he's gotta eat so he'll spin the corporate line.

I hope against hope we'll get another year, but if not . . . more money for SHMonsterarts and commissioned artwork.
