I love Watchmen and DCUC, but this would make Mattel more money than both of those subs combined. Start off with a 6 inch Keaton and Nicholson 2 pack, then single figures based on the movies, cartoons and comics. Especially figures based on Elseworlds. Also produce one Batmobile per year for the elite members of the sub.

I'm astonished that Mattel hasn't done this already.

I wouldn't buy it. I have no interest in 6 in. cartoon or movie figures.

I don't think they've done it because Batman makes more money for them at retail.

There are Batman items that would appeal to collectors that don't work at retail. I'm talking collector grade Batmobiles, and a batcave / Wayne Manor playset in the same vein as the Mattycollector Castle Grayskull. Even Batman figures that are from the pre-New 52 era. I have always wanted a Batman: Holy Terror figure. Will probably never happen, but a sub would be a better venue for oddities like that.

Tell that to the entire Batman Unlimited line which is now cancelled at retail.

Because of super powers penguin haha.

Maybe they'll learn that some crappy toys from the 80's shouldn't be made again.

No, I think it's the oversaturation of Batman himself in the Batman Unlimited line, rather than secondary characters or villains.

I'm seeing a lot more DCNU Batman warming pegs than Penguin here. Maybe it's a regional thing, but I haven't seen a single Penguin in weeks at TRU or Target. One TRU today had 3 silver-painted Batman figures and one Batgirl. Zero Penguins. Equally I'm still seeing a lot of the Injustice Batman and Superman video game figures from the DC Unlimited line clogging pegs, which I'm sure has contributed to killing that line too. Should have done more comic-based characters than overhyping that game.

100 % honest- I havent even seen a penguin with 50 miles of me in the past three months-I was going to maybe pick one up when they went on clearance-- guess not now..- I just see Superman and Darkseid Pegwarming. (and actulally have seen more Dark Knight Return Batman's then Penguins on the shelves- at least in the past three months.)

Would it have mustard or mayo on it? Oh I know it would be a BLT - bat, lettuce and tomato. Tasty.

And in regards to the original assesment-- Id love to have a Batman sub- but I would only want Pre New 52 normal characters ---No Elseworlds, none of that Morrison crap and 100% no movie figures- why would I wan't figures of characters that have been around for 25-50 years and now they look like celebrities- so your model would not work for me at all.

Banned for horrible jokes/puns -- I think Mudd is the only one who is authorized to make them.

I'm a big fan of Batman and even I have to say no. Look, it is nice in concept, but Matty is having a hard enough time getting folks to re-up for what they currently have up for subscriptions. I don't think Batman would fair any better. Stew, I can keep an eye out for Penguin if you want. The Injustice Batman is clogging up the pegs here in Washington State at the local TRU's. I picked up the Hawkman a few weeks back and keep hoping I'll find the rest of the new JLA when I'm out and about.
