To me:

Total Heroes Superman,
Image

...looks a lot like Justice League Target Superman.

But with more articulation and at a different scale. So on one hand, it seems like that first wave of Target Justice League figures was a success. And on the other... well, I sure hope there's no Target/DC corporate executive out there dictating terms and thinking "spiders are really, really, scary."

New 6" line - "Total Heroes" developed with 4Horsemen. 14 points of articulation, on shelves Spring 2014!

$9.99 price, new interpretations that are stylized, closer to New52 costumes than classic.

Six of Ten are shown, rest at NYCC:

Superman
Batman
Aquaman
The Flash
Green Lantern
Sinestro

Black Manta 6" $20 on MattyCollector exclusive

At the Panel is a Fan's Choice - Panel room gets to vote!

Reverse Flash
Batman Beyond
Blue Beetle
OR customizable Hero Builder

Two strikes against this -- lower articulation and New 52 designs. I hope the Signature Series gets renewed, because it looks like DCUC-style figures may be dead at retail.

This lower articulation thing really bothers me, too. How many Hasbro lines have been spoiled by this in the past year?

And you know what that Superman reminds me of?

So here is my question. If Mattel thinks they can sell a 6" figure for $9.99 at retail why not continue DCUC at retail just with less articulation? You could get rid of:

Wrist articulation-2
Stomach articulation-1
Strange thigh articulation-2
Ankle articulation-1

and there ya go 14 POA left.

Yeah, NO, thank you. While I dislike excessive articulation like double-jointed knees and elbows, I don't want to see DCUC scaled back.

Which Both being kids lines-- I dont see the hate for this- and as much Sigma Six Sucked- some of the designs were pretty cool- -- (and try getting a scarlett for under 40 bucks) - I dislike New 52 more than the next guy- but the action figure market is dying-- and you got to keep getting to the next age group of kids to try and keep it alive..

I thought the same thing. But, to me that's a positive.

Does anyone else think the new DC lines will be successful? I have my doubts- the 6 inch line is doomed to fail.

I probably would have got the Batman Beyond if it was being released into stores.
Basically 2 characters in one PLUS a pack in character.
But its not worth the $30 after shipping.

My thoughts exactly I would have loved to have the wings for my current BB figure but oh well.

I'm surprised JLU fans aren't stoked that the alt heads for the Batman Beyond figure are clearly based on the Bruce Timm Terry McGuiness and Old Man Bruce design. I want the figure just for that.

I haven't seen the alternate heads to even realize that? OK, I might buy the Batman Beyond figure if that's the case. Maybe I can use the heads for customs of some kind.

Pretty cool accessories & extras that these figures come with.

Oh I'm probably going to get in trouble for this one, because free speech that knocks mattel is forbidden around here, but........

I think this kind of proves my point about mattel even more though. I believe much of the end of the JLU line was when mattel raised the price of a single 3.75" figure to $9.99 & kept releasing repeats of the original 7 and/or stupid variants. Where I'm going with this is they reused bucks on almost every figure so tooling cost practically nothing, they had limited articulation, cheap paint apps, rarely any extras included. mattel claimed the price had to go up due to the cost of oils/plastic & other thing such as tooling, etc.....

Yet they come out with this line which is a larger 6 inch figure, with all new tooling, more articulation, & are including extra hands, heads, & weapons with each. Wouldn't these take more plastic/costs to make? But yet these are at a $9.99 price point?

Both were retail lines.

Well if they can do all that for $9.99 how come our beloved JLU figures which are much cheaper to produce in comparison, couldn't stay at a $4.99 to $6.99 price point? Probably because it's just like I thought & mattel was just price gouging the loyal fans of the JLU line.

Now I really hope this line fails more than ever. If they would just bring back the JLU figures rebranded as something else & sell them at an affordable price point I bet they would sell better than this garbage.

I eagerly await the kool aid drinkers responses/excuses to somehow rationalize/twist this in mattel's favor.....lol

Pretty sure that the $10 figures are just the figures, no extras unless it would be something absolutely necessary like Green Arrow's bow. The ones with the extra heads, hands, accessories, etcetera are going to be $20 and exclusive to MattyCollector.
