I am personally excited for this line. I dig the animated look. I'm fully prepared to spend 60 bucks on that Green Lantern to buy extras to have three different GLs in the line.

I get why some people are mad/upset/etc. I'm just not one of them.

The Ultra figure series at Mattycollector.
Add $10 for shipping to make it $30 per set from Mattycollector.

The regular series figures will be at retail stores for $9.99.

$20 GL Ultra set
$20 GL Ultra set
$20 GL Ultra set
$15 shipping
$4.20 tax
----
$79.20 total

$20 GL Ultra set
$10 shipping
$1.40 tax
$11 Hal Jordan single ($10+tax)
$11 Hal Jordan single ($10+tax)
----
$53.40 total

Why don't you buy 2 extra Hal Jordan's from the regular line and swap the heads with those?

Well, $10 shipping isn't exactly a set price it all depends on how and where it's being shipped, that's why I didn't include it. Neither is the sales tax, not something I've got to pay here in Kentucky (though I'm sure it won't be much longer before that changes).

I'll say it again, if some of you guys who are in the same area would just pool together on orders when they come up you could save a lot on shipping. Same goes for using Newgistics for shipping, yeah it's slow but it's only a couple more days at most than what it takes UPS to get here and it saves me $5 (at least) each time I order versus UPS Ground. Granted all I have to base that on is based on where I am, it could be more or less depending on distance I suppose, but would waiting a couple more days really kill any of you?

I guess that explains it, but that's all it does. Doesn't really make much sense. So you mean to tell me that they are going to release these figures for $9.99 retail, But then also release these on matty with extra parts for double the price plus shipping? Seems like a bonehead decision. I wouldn't pay $20 plus shipping just to get a couple extra heads with that Batman Beyond.

Plus even if these figures do not come with anything at retail. Still doesn't explain why mattel can sell a figure with all new tooling, larger scale, more articulation for $9.99 & JLU figures for the reason I listed couldn't be a lower price point than that?

Multiple retailers has a lot to do with it.

Well, aside from the lot of constructs it comes with that I want multiples of as well, I believe they said that hands and heads weren't swappable on the retail ones (don't know how that works, but whatever). I don't know. We'll see.

Yep. The first wave of the Total Heroes line most likely had more orders from multiple retailers than the last wave of the JLU line, which was limping along at a single retailer.

Higher production lowers costs. It's a fundamental principle of economics.

Yeah, I heard Scott say that the Hal Jordan heads were not swappable. I told him that then we will just customize it. He said, "You are right, you will just do what you want with the figure."

I find it hard to believe that the regular figure heads may not pop off. If the neck socket is a different size then you may have to customize a fix.

They look pretty good together and a lot better before the close up shots.

While I do like them...I don't like them as much as I hoped I would. I think a big reason is the feet pointing straight outward. I hate that I always like to pose figures with the feet slightly angled. So I think after I get the Hal it will just be Batman related characters for me unless they make a Green Arrow and Hawkman. Then I will get them as well.
As for these 4 I'd rank them in this order -
1. Batman
2. Flash
3. Aquaman
4. Superman

I do really like the overall design of them. I just wish they had a swivel joint in their knees like they do in the elbows. Other than the Superman (who I'm not feeling at all) I like the other three and their style reminds me of the artwork of a artist who was working on one of the Batman titles in the 90's (?) I forget who it was though.
