Also something new for DCIE starting with Ocean Master - When you get the figure there is a code on the back of the white outer mailer box for the download of a free digital comic staring Ocean Master (in this case it's New 52 Aquaman #14). You also get this on the upcoming Ra's Al Ghul and Batzarro figures (for difference comics staring each character).

D

I was impressed with this and wish they had done it sooner.

Other than the paint scheme, this is the same figure from the History of the DCU line (DC Direct), so perhaps that & the apathy towards Mattel these days is why a sell out wasn't immediate (if it even has done so yet, IDK).

No, it isn't. The articulation is different (and superior). The DCD figure is also in a slightly different scale. I own the original and while I loved the paint scheme, I hated just about everything else.

It is the same character, not the same figure.

All I was saying is that people who have the figure from the other line may not feel they need to get Mattel's version.

I have both versions of Ocean Master and I can say that the DCD version doesn't mesh well with the DCUC line. Also the quality for me was sub par with the figure.

Fair enough. :)

On the other hand, you could say that about MOST of the DCUC figures. While I'm certain there are figures Matty's done that DCD hasn't, the vast majority have had DCD counterparts.

Ocean Master here,
It's been a week and I'm STILL FOR SALE. I'm the only item left from the 10/15 sale. Did Matty make too many of me, have people stopped buying with the sub not going through, what gives? This could be awful news for Batzarro...

Nah.
Bat characters sell like hotcakes.
He may not sell out in hours, but he won't be lingering for days and days.
