Hey all I'm a huge Superman buff and was curious on people thoughts of Mattel's Superman (Movie Masters) figurine? Especially as a collectable. Any good feedback without getting flamed would be great :)

All depends on what you're meaning by "collectible". If you just mean a nice, cheap piece to put on display and look nice, it will do the trick. If you're looking for something a bit more "high end" then I'd go with a DC Collectibles statue. If the only concern is if the value will increase over time I would suggest investing in gold or silver not action figures.

It's a decent figure and a good representation of the character from the movie. The pictures shown on amazon are of the original hand-panited paint master and the production figure does not look as good. All the blues on the costume are a lot darker and the figures head has a 5:00 shadow.

As for collectiblity - they made a ton of these. He was the heaviest pack in the cases so it's not a "investment" piece that you would be able to sell some day. There is another version that comes with the Kryptonian key as an accessory that has been much harder to find as it was the last figure in the line to be released.

But if you just want a good, not quite 6" scale version of Henry Cavel as Superman then this is the way to go.
