I once saw some of these figures in stores years ago, and now I remember why I never bought any. They're very squat, aren't they? A shame, since some of the designs on the show are rather good. I guess Mattel wanted to follow in the footsteps of MOTU with this style.

I'm bummed that Warlord Slasher, who had that huge purple cape with spikes on the show, seems to be cape-less as an action figure, as far as I can tell from the packaging anyhow.

And why does Arthur have that creepy angry grin face?

I'd be interested to hear anything you guys know about this line and whether more figures were planned. Do you think it was crafty or cheap for Mattel to repurpose the Slime Pit for this line?

I usually see this figure loose in 1.00 bins at toy shows and thrift shops-- I didn't even realize it was mattel--- though it was knockoff junk..

I see these at the flea markets in the $1.00 bins also. I am forced dig through this garbage trying to find BTAS figures.

I'd put money on it that Mattel tries to sneak these into the Masters of the Universe classics line.

I think that if we were not in the waning days of the line, that we would see exactly that, and others *cough* Sun Man *cough*

Yeah, next year's MOTUC sub will probably include "Arth-Or" the legendary king from Eternia's neighboring realm known as Englandia.

Does Mattel own those characters or was that a licensed line?...

And I would be all for Sun Man and his crew in the line but I don't see Mattel paying whoever has the rights to the Olmec properties. Scott has said that Feruza-T (sp?) is available to them, those would be cool to have, too...

I wouldn't mind seeing a well-sculpted version of some of these guys (Arthur, Viper and Slasher) but I doubt the demand is there, and I doubt they'd risk fans' wrath by trying to slip them into MOTUC.
