Last I remember the first three were due in September (so you can combine shipping with Superboy and/or the Total Heroes figure if you want) and the last three in December (to combine with Damien and/or that Total Heroes figure). Going to be very expensive months for DC collectors...

Let's see... I've owned all of four Super Powers figures in my years of collecting, only one of which was bought new and wasn't intended for customizing purposes. So, no. Not at all what I meant. ;)

I just don't think people care anymore. I honestly forgot they were even going to release them.

Okay, so, according to news out of SDCC, Mattel is going to release three of the Super Powers figures -- Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, in September, and the other three -- Gold Superman, Green Lantriddler, and Mxyzptlk, in October.

That's three PER MONTH -- at $30 apiece!

Absolutely brilliant marketing there, Mattel. Not all of us can afford to put out over $100 a month like that (including shipping), especially if we're also keeping up with Masters of the Universe.

I was really looking forward to these. Now -- they just dropped off my list. Not because I don't want them, but because I simply can't afford a purchase like that right now. And that makes me very sad. :(

That was how they were always intended to be released. Since the initial announcement. They are doing it that way so that it is easy for collectors to get multiple figures for reduced shipping.

We've also discussed it in this very thread.

Honestly though, I feel you. I don't have the funds to buy them now either. SO, I'll probably hold out and only get Mxy at year's end, and then, when I do have extra funds, I'll either pick them up on a Matty clearance sale or off of eBay.

These will definitely be going for about 10 dollars a piece if you just wait.

I doubt it. I bet they produced these in a very limited quantity. You're also underestimating the Super Powers collectors that will be grabbing these up. I guess we'll see how quickly the first batch sells out in September.

They are releasing 3 or 4 of those Super Powers a month at $30 a piece? That's some expensive months for you guys who are collecting them!

Basically yes 3 each month at thirty bucks a pop. The way it was claimed you will be paying for the figure and C&C piece. And it is a Flat price meaning the 6 inch figures and the Undersized will be the same Price.

As a Super Powers fan & collector, they've got me by the short hairs here, but the price is high. I gotta have them, and I've wanted these color schemes for several years now. Love 'em, and the production run is allegedly small, but part of me feels like there's a chance these may go on sale / clearance somewhere at some point. That said, I am sure I'll be ordering when they go onsale nexth month, I can't miss out, and I can afford them, so I'm in!
What we do is one of use in my local group orders for everyone, and we split the shipping costs, so it helps keeps the shipping $ down.

The worst part is ordering three of each at a time.....I guess I might have to postpone my trip to Memphis.
