I don't eat my toys, so I see no reason to get rid of mine.

No way! I would not send them back because I'm not about to go hunting all over again. But I guess I can't use all the double figures as sexual toys anymore

I wouldn't get rid of mine, either, but I'd probably throw away the big box of 10 POA Bats, Supes, and other duplicates I've accumulated (I keep 5 POA for customs). Right now, I'm sitting on 30 or so that I need to get rid of -- I'm thinking about distributing them at Halloween or giving them to my comic shop as free giveaways. I'd definitely reconsider that.
The other thing I'd do is start taking precautions when sanding down figures for customs. I wear glasses, but I don't usually put on a mask. I'd start that for sure (in fact, I think I'll do that in the future no matter what).

I don't eat my toys. But if there's a lucrative lawsuit, maybe I should start.

I'm not worried about mine, but as GreatWhite said, I'd need to think about my son's collection. All my duplicates have gone into his toy box or to his friends.
And the customizing point Bryan made had not occurred to me...the kind of handling/sanding involved might be a real concern.

They could make all the JLU figures using lead instead of plastic and I'd still be buying them.
