Since they have the master license for all current and previous animated shows, it got me thinking while watching the new Super Powers dvd. Use characters that were exclusive to or introduced on that show as well as Superfriends. Samurai, Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, Firestorm, Zan and Jayna...hell even throw in a bonus Gleek. Is there one of us here that wouldn't crumpledung that 6 pack up?

Depends wheether or not they can make those non DC characters. Other than Firestorm, I think Hanna Barbera owns those.

I would crumpledung it up. I loved those characters when I was a kid and of course, had no idea that Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, and Samurai were not actual comic characters. Now that I'm older however, I have to wonder how much of a chump Black Lightning felt like walking around with no pants. Then again, it was the seventies...... -R (Check out them gams!)

Im sure to be in the minority here, but I there are plenty more ideas I would find far more appealing to me.

As a matter of fact, this question came up before, when DCD did their Superfriends line. They could do any DC character affiliated with the show (sound familiar?), but they didn't have the rights for any characters created by HB (Black Vulcan, Samurai, El Dorado, etc.).

Caprica6 wrote: And let's not forget Rima, the Jungle Girl! No, dont forget Rima! In terms of rights, I think they could probably make her. Shes technically public domain, so not owned by HB. And DC did publish a comic about her in the seventies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rima

Why was Kenner allowed to put Samauri in their Super Powers line?

And a few other Hanna-Barbera characters (El Dorado, Black Vulcan, Zan and Jayna) were gonna be included in the unproduced fourth wave of the Super Powers collection. Anyone know how the inclusion of these characters was possible?
