Great work, but I can't believe that anyone would customize (i.e. chop up) a Grundy like that... Derb-

You look like crap! See how words hurt.
Being constructive is better.
Not my customs, but I still think you're being a jerk, Batman305

On the ones I assume are made by someone named "shear", the best ones are: night shade riddler top weather wizard Really good stuff, especially Night Shade, although Riddler is a little too buff. Maybe he's on Venom there The worst ones by shear, I'd say, are these: bullet man mera max mercury angleman black manta The rest (The ones I didn't name for either list), were good, but not great. I'm not one to talk, really, as I wouldn't be able to make a custom to save my life, but just giving my opinion on shear's work. The majority of his stuff is pretty good.

I think EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion...Free speech and all.
I also think there are better ways to express ones opinion than just "YOU SUCK." Tact my friends...a bit of tact.
How about some corrective criticism? What do you think would make these figures better? What improvements/changes would you make? Being one who makes figures...I always appreciate CORRECTIVE criticism
say what you will about the sculpting on some of the figures...but the paint apps are AMAZING!!! The Shark, The Top, Javalin and Evil Star are real stand outs to me!!

Yeah, the flood of "animated" style made this the weakest custom con in history. It was exceedingly boring and had no interest at all for me. I appreciate the fans out there who like these happy meal toys but I just can't get in to them at all. I don't know where all the other customs were but if this is a sign of things to come in custom con then I guess I won't be looking forward to them anymore.

I liked all of them and appreciate the time someone spends on more obscure characters, so there.

See now I disagree, for me the Animated stuff is the highlight of a custom con. I like seeing how people make good renditions of characters in this style, only using what you refer to as "happy meal toys" as their base to work from. Keeping the custom simple and inline with that style can be trickier than it looks, because if they make it too busy, it doesn't suit the Bruce Timm look. Plus, with the future of Mattels DCAU line looking a bit uncertain at the moment, the more figures snatched off the shelves for custom fodder, the more chance retailers are going to ask for the line to continue!! So its a win win situation in my book!

I was just thinking about doing Metal Men when I came across this thread. I thought the figures he picked were okay except for Lead, I would have picked something else that looked closer to the character in the book, but I understand you work with what you have. The acrylic paints look okay, especially for mercury, but the detailing wasnt great. Decals would have been cleaner, the marker pen just doesnt cut it. Platinum looks like a Lois Lane figure, I would have used a WW, but she does have a kinder face. I think even a Shayera Hal would have been good as well. Tin is good, but again, the marker makes it all look sloppy. I dont like Lead, I think you could have used a grey Hulk and come out better or maybe even a Darksied. Hats off to the customizer for picking a non main stream team. Very original.
