Hey I was thinking that maybe if we all took pictures of the JLU items stores are carrying and posted them here (i.e. empty shelfs, endless trinitys, so on) , maybe the Mattel people would see it in reality and then they would have to understand what were talking about. I think that would be cool if we got a collection of stores pictures to gether, that way we could all see whats going on in different states.

We tried that once. Didn't get much participation.
Also I don't think they are unaware of the issue. They know case packs need to be adjusted. They have said as much.

Not that I think it will deter you, Johnny, since you apparently have no problem being escorted from the store, but I know for a fact that TRU has a policy against taking photos in the store (there was a sign posted at the entrance of every store back when I worked there, not sure about now) and I'm sure Target does as well as every other major retailer. The official reason is that they don't want the competition to have an easy reference for the way the product is merchandised and the pricing, but its also to protect the store from people staging photos of "accidents" and other imagery that may damage the corporate image.

Jim speaketh the truth. We have a sign posted, and I had to ask a woman to leave about a month ago for this very reason.
Peace,
Chip

Really? They called the cops on you? Wow. They couldn't just ask you to leave?

Not allowing people to take pictures of the toy aisles in a store is stupid. It's not like you're stealing.

It is suspicious behavior.
No one would see a grown ass man in the toy aisle with a camera and think "OH he must be taking pictures to post on a website to show the glut of Trinity 3 packs". They will think you are scoping out the place to rob later, or that you are a child molester. I wouldnt bother taking pics of the toy situation in the aisles (as Glenn and Primetime have reported the Mattel reps are out and about)--but if I did, I would be discreet.

The Wal-Mart on Ordanince Rd. in Glenn Bernie,MD. accused me of
"stealing" when in fact all I was doing was stashing 2 figures in the
sports dept. to pick up the next morning. The guy who runs security
claimed he was cutting me a "break" by not involving the law. I was
like,"You GOT to be kidding me".....but he was serious as a heart attack!!
I had no idea that a store had soooo many unknown LAWS!!!

Actually, when I used to work retail, we were told to discourage people from taking pictures inside the store. I forget why--I think it was because corporate was very proprietary about both the merchandise and the way it was displayed. Didnt want competitors stealing ideas from either.
