I never had one, but when I look at the sites on the net, it just looks like an amazing and fun line. Cool spacesuits, cool vehicles and other accessories and big playsets. With a slice of the toy market aimed at nostalgia, I would think this would be a kick-butt line to be seen again on the shelf.

I had one. Never really cared for it. I'm still waiting for the return of Bulletman.

Wonder if Bulletman would make a return via SIGMA SIX?

I'd much rather see a return of Big Jim's P.A.C.K., either as a 12" line or a Horsemen-sculpted 6" line. It'd need to be rife with weapons, holsters, and such either way.

I don't know if Mattel is even thinking about reviving Major Matt, but I do know that his followers are alive and well and as rabid as anyone that collects "stuff."

There is a Yahoo Group dedicated to the good Major and apparently a cottage industry out there creating bits and pieces for the collecting hordes.

When I was a junior in HS - which was about the time that Lucy and her kin climbed out of the trees in East Africa - Major Matt was all the rage. To disguise my toy addiction, I bought a horde of the stuff for my little brother who was in 1st grade (who knew their parents had sex back then and an "oops" was possible?). The Moon Base, the Crawler thing, Major Matt and Sargent whats-his-name and even Calisto (I think that was what his name was) the alien...

Chris was only mildly interested in the stuff, and I honestly don't know what ever happened to all the stuff after I moved out following my graduation the next spring.

All that was to say that I think there would be a market for a revived Major Matt.

I grew up during the MMM era. It was my favorite toy line at the time (even GI Joe came in second.) The suits and accessories were based on early NASA concept art--how cool is that? I'd love to see Mattel reissue some of that line.

There was an Asian reissue of the Major and friends as generic astronauts a few years back. The company that put them out was called "Leadworks." These came with cautionary notices about the materials used. You can still get them on ebay, but they aren't too cheap.
