im running this poll on 3 sites: OAFE, HOJ, and AFI (dont you love acronyms!) to see what fans think mattel should focus the majority of the money into: Justice League Unlimited or DC Universe Classics. (remember majority can mean only 51%).
personally, i think it should be DCUC. the market has shifted towards 6"/1:12 scale, and we have yet to get a "Marvel Legends" like line for DC characters. but, thats just my opinion.

It's never going to be either/or. Mattel is going to try to get as much return on their investment as possible. That "pie' is going to be split a lot of ways as far as budget and teams.
In addition to JLU and DCUC they will also devote time and resources to:
Super Friends
The Batman
The Dark Knight
Fighting Figures
And stuff we don't even know about yet.
This poll really just tells you what collectores might like more.

Yes, but what if DCUC and Superfriends are the only things retailers pick up?
Then it's clearly DCUC. None of the other stuff is even being produced. Hell, we haven't even heard if Fighting Figures was even picked up at retail yet.
Peace,
Chip

Looking at the cons and pros of each for me, i'd say JLU:
DCU
Better Sculpts
JLU
More characters
Cheaper
Somewhat good sculpts

I chose DCUC, because they fit well with my Marvel Legends.

AFI is here, obviously, HOJ is the Hall of Justice, and OAFE is Online Action Figure Entertainment.

I think most of Mattel's money will be focused on DCUC and the leftovers will be put into Superfriends, The Batman, The Dark Knight and JLU.

Although I love JLU, I won't give them cheaper. Not when it costs me $25 to get the 3-packs I should be able to find at retail. As for more characters, I hope that DCUC either outstrips JLU or is left behind if JLU starts back up again with a vengeance.

I voted JLU. Not to knock DCUC because they are awesome, I just can't start collecting anything else. JLU or DCAU has given me almost any character I've ever wanted along with a slew of characters that had never crossed my mind. Plus I like the fact that they are a uniform style.

When I realised DCUC was meant to replace JLU, I decided not to collect DCUC.

I voted for both. I am very lucky that I can afford to pick up JLU, DCUC and even DCD to my heart's content. And there are things about each of these lines I really love and really hate.
JLU:
Love the number of characters
Hate that I can't find them
Love the look of the animated style
Hate purchasing multiples just to get one character in a 3-pack
DCUC:
Love the sculpts, articulation, selection of characters
Hate that I can't find them
This is my favorite line at present.
DCD (off-topic, I realize, but related as far as I am concerned):
Love the sculpts
Hate the limited articulation
Hate that some break just geting them out of the package!
Hate that they are not all uniform (style, size, articulation)
I have been admiring Marvel Legends ever since they hit the pegs. But I am not at a Marvel fan. I have been waiting patiently for something like Marvel Legends with the DC Universe. It looks like Mattel may deliver. We'll just have to wait and see...like we do every year.

If it came down to either/or, I'd say that for me personally, the choice will always be JLU.
However, I think the time has come for Mattel to shift their focus to DCUC. I know that makes me a traitor to my animated-lovin' friends (and myself), but Mattel has already made 100 or so animated-style heroes and villains. And even though they can and should keep dipping into their supposedly unlimited library, I think their primary focus, their bread and butter, should become DCUC. That should be the thrust of their next several years. Things like Superfriends, Fighting Figures, and even the new DCAU line should be ancillary to that. I love the JLU/DCAU line, but there should be a DC Comics flagship line for collectors and geeks, and DCUC has the potential to be that. I don't think my love for the animated style should get in the way of that.
I want to see JLU continue under the DCAU banner (or whatever it will be), but DCUC is the future. I hope.

As Julius said, Mattel is going to get as much as they can for the money they paid for DC's license. I would be happy (and more financially stable to be sure) if it were only JLU but I had to vote both as that is the reality of the situation as well as my buying habits.
