Hmm...in that case, is it just my monitor, or do the eyes on this one look green to anyone else? If so, maybe we've discovered the variant..

Well, I was going from memories of the press pics... I could've sworn the eyes were white or yellow... (I looked up the pics, both versions apparently have green eyes) Personally, I'm a little ticked at the moment because I though Mattel was finally starting to understand that such minor variations are more frustrating than exciting... Right now it would have to be some really impressive paint change to make me change my mind about that... Would've much rather had a third variant on Mr. Smith -- say the really classic red/purple uniform or the Young Justice no-stripes look -- than the piddly variation that it seems we're getting...
Maybe they painted Etrigan's horns?...

I really wish I had collected this line from the start when it was DC Superheroes.
I love the look of these figures but I can't convince myself to get them and not go back and try to get all the great Superman and Batman villains that have already been done.
It would be way to much of a PITA to do that.

You guys may have found the variant. The eyes of both of my RT's from the 1B case are green.

Whatever happened to the robo-penguin pack-in variant? I'd like to get ahold of that one...
But in a box of 6, is it all 5 plus the RT variant?

I think they scrapped the robot idea.

Packout 1A has an extra Batman
Packout 1B has an extra Tornado (no guarantee on it being a variant)

Unfortuately I asked the guy who always helps me at my local TRU and according to the computer they weren't even in our areas Distribution center yet. So that'll probably mean if they don't show up by the end of the year my TRU won't get them until Feb. because this store never gets anything in January, (maybe 1 truck) because the distribution center closes down for inventory every year. I hope when BBTS finally gets their shipment is 1A, because I want the extra Bats not Red Tornado.

Cornboy stated that we'd have to be 'eagle-eyed' to spot the variant, so I think you guys have hit the nail on the head.
Peace,
Chip

Don't know much about Red Tornado, and even though it's an easy enough variant to fudge with some paint, is one eye color more "true" to the character, as in RT was most commonly seen with green or yellow? And is there any significance to the eye color difference?
