Man, with all the holiday stuff going on this past week, I missed the whole 'clearance deal' at Target. Looks like Grodd came and went around here. I hit seven stores, but there was nothing left at any of them.
I asked at one store if they had any, or were planning to get any in, and I was told that they had about two dozen and they sold out quick. BAH!
Are they all sold out around you guys too?

I checked 2 targets today, both had nothing on the shelf. One bit of possible good news is that the tag didn't have a clearance sticker on it. I'll have to make sure and check every day for the next week in the hopes of scoring one. BTW, I'm in the Eastside of Seattle.
I've been pretty understanding about Mattels distribution practices this year, but I will really not be happy if I can't score a Grodd at retail. This should have been an easy nab, especially since almost everybody in the country has seen multiples. Grodd has been my number one want for JLU, needless to say I won't be happy if I missed it.
On a bright note, the Doomsday pack was re-released, so chances are good Grodd will be as well. Just have to try and be patient.

Thanks Brand! Hey, any luck with finding Tom the race official? I'm actually all caught up now with all the cars exept him. A few people at Carsthetoys seem to have found him. He looks pretty cool.

I had a nice Christmas Eve Surprise when I went to a Target in Orange County and found a Grodd set on clearance! They also had both Doomsday packs as well as the die cast figures on clearance. The singles and 3-packs were full price. I hope that Target will continue to have the 6 packs available. If I have any luck finding anymore Grodds I will pick them up and post it here as well. Happy Holidays!
Good Hunting!

I'm also in need of a Grodd, if anyone finds an extra set.

Jeez, I can *finally* post here again. You'd think I was a "murderous kaiju Mot" it took so long to reactivate...
Anyway, a word of caution to those who want to buy a Grodd set sight unseen: BAD IDEA!
I have seen over a dozen of the Grodd sets in my area, the home of Target. Of those sets, only *ONE* had acceptable paint apps on Grodd. Most had scuffs/dirt/stray paint on the belly area. A few had 'chipped' paint on the face.
Wierd thing is that the 5 other figures didn't have any issues out of all the packs I saw. I was especially worried that Red Hood's metallic helmet would have chipped paint. but it wasn't an issue.
Grodd is the centerpiece of this set, and the reason it even exists. Would it killed Mattel to give him consistently good paint apps?

That was the 'battle damaged' Grodd set, it's a variant.... Just kidding, couldn't help myself.

I scoped out my nearest Target. They had a bunch of three-packs (including one Mr. Miracle set, but his paint job was horrid) and no Grodd. Hopefully, the Grodd set will come back to the shelves like the Doomsday set.

Man I've been out of the loop! I haven't even seen the Grodd set at all (haven't checked Target since early December). Now I hear the set's on clearance and gone? I need to check around tonight...

I know, I was being sarcastic towards Mattel, I guess I should have used an emoticon. LOL. I'm still suffering over Volcana, Barda, and Obsidian!
