Hong Kong JLU Obsidian...new or old?

Take a look at these two pictures

The one on the left is from a Hong Kong seller on eBay and the one on the right is from Ham Salad's flickr account. Am I crazy are do they look different? The eBay version looks whiter while the old one looks more silver. The shades of blue look different also. Do you think this is just a camera deal? Do I just want this guy re-released bad enough that I'm reading too much into it haha? What do you think?

Personally I think it's the same figure and that it's just a trick of the light. However, I do hope that he's being reissued this year. Too many people missed him the first time.

I would have already made a custom of him if it weren't for that cape. I want accurate and sometimes with capes (for me) it's hard to pull off.

Yup, or that guy wouldn't have it. No accessories, so prolly NOT a single.

While I believe he is being re-released, I don't think it's a newer lighter deco. Looks like camera flash (or settings) is making the colors lighter. It's just a different light on the same figure me thinks.

Well here ya go! an auction for a prototype with a cape if you want to spend $40 and don't want to wait until Mattel re-releases it.

I can't bring myself to buy a figure for that much (right now) just for the cape.

Though I did buy a Barda prototype recently because I think they mislisted it at $4.99. I'm going to paint it unless someone has a factory version that they are willing to trade.

I thought I read somewhere that they would only be reissuing figures that were rare the first time around as singles. But I could be wrong. That's what they've done with Volcana, Stargirl, and Parasite so far. I would hope they wouldn't change that. Given their track record with 6 packs the last two years, I can't imagine it would go over very well.
