Found yesterday at TRU, two full cases. Wasn't even looking, don't even collect them. This time around they come in a green tray/package. Happy hunting.

Do they still have the bar code on the back of the package? There were rumors they dropped that for series 3.

Good.
these should've been random from the start.
They should've been packed in small cardboard boxes, and sealed in foil bags to prevent people from identifying the figure by feel, or X-Ray.

There are little bumps that just look like normal parts of the package unless you're looking for them. The placement of the bumps indicates the contents of the package. Details: http://www.fbtb.net/2010/11/18/series-3 ... e-cracked/It's not as easy to use as the barcodes, but it worked well enough that I only wound up with one accidental double.

Seems like Lego has a hit on their hands. I know I would have gone nuts over these back when I was a kid. Just wait for the inevitable Star Wars series and watch the craziness truly begin!

Walked into my local TRU (Greece for those of you in the area) to do some holiday shopping for my son, and noticed 4 boxes of these on the customer service desk.
I walked up and started grabbing a few of them when the clerk at the desk stopped me, said that they were limiting them to a purchase of 2 per person per day due to the highly collectible nature. She actually told me that it was store policy NOT TO SELL OUT OF ANYTHING DURING THE HOLIDAY and therefore they were imposing a limit.
I didn't even get to look at the packs, she just reached into the top box that was open, handed 2 to me and 2 to the person I was with and then checked us out.
Very annoying.
At least I now have the Alien, and 2x the Sumo wrestler (who was the figure I wanted most, although it looks a bit odd on the normal "thin" body). My buddy kept the fisherman as an in-joke for his father.
Guess I'll be going back to TRU rather a lot in the next few days.

This is getting a bit ridiculous with how much I want these.
Does anyone know of a good source to just buy "sets" and eliminate the growing hassle of finding stores that stock them and actually let you buy them?
I've seen one or two people on Amazon offer sets of 16 for around $65 + shipping but the listing is missing some information that makes me a bit leary of placing the order (not to mention the price point this close to christmas ...)
If anyone out there has an easier time getting their hands on these and wants to try and work out some trade type deal let me know.

I ordered 12 figures from series 2 online directly from Lego and only got one duplicate. Don't know if they always do that, but it was a gamble that paid off for me since they are so hard to find locally in stores here.

Went to TRU today at lunch. They had 2 boxes of these at the customer service desk. They weren't limiting how many I coulg buy... but they were $3.99 each. OUCH!
I picked up four of them and got: The alien, the baseball player, the sumo and the samurai.
Wow. The little bumps that tell you what figure is what are subtle!

Sounds like they jacked up the price since wave 2 was $2.99 at TRU.

The local TRU has apparently given up on trying to control these at the Customer Service desk and has put out 2 cases on the Lego endcaps.
I have 12 of the 16 now and will be trying to complete the set tonight after work.
still hate the stupid $3.99 price point ...
