Are these going to be available at the lego store? If so, I am so picking up a set or two for me and my son. Sheer awesomeness!

The Cuusoo releases generally aren't available through the Lego stores (or any other retail outlet that I am aware of really).

You pretty much have to follow the site for purchase information and mark your calendar for the date and time.

I haven't actually purchased any set yet, so I can't speak to the ease or difficulty of acquiring a set, but, depending on the price point, I'll definitely be wanting this one.

I do wonder though, is Lego doing the legal work to acquire licensing rights for these, or is there some loophole that lets them bypass that since these are "fan designed" and limited release items?

Got to be licensed as the video has all the Universal ownership info on it. I would say that the fact that the designers are donating their royalties to the Michael J. Fox Foundation probably helped in getting that license.

EDIT: from the CUUSOO site post about the car...

The final product is still in development in coordination with our license partner, Universal Partnerships & Licensing. We'll show the final model and you’ll be able to order your own copy when it becomes available in mid-2013 (exact dates and pricing to be determined).

I could have sworn I saw the Minecraft one at my local Lego store..... although I could be wrong.

I thought for a second you were giving one away and I was about to explode because if there are two things I love its LEGO and BTTF!

But yeah, I thought this had already been announced?

I went into my lego store today and they hadn't gotten them in yet. It kinda irritates me that they didn't have it for the release date. It will eventually show up, I'll just keep checking. They thought they may get it in next week.

I'm going to buy this, eventually. But really, the only reason to do so are for the Marty and Doc Brown minifigures. The version of the Delorean in the set is inferior to the original Cuusoo version in at the very least it's appearance. And while you can make the time machine for all three films, it would have been nice if we had minifigures for the last two films included, however pricey that would be.

I'm sure some enterprising Lego enthusiast will make a Hill Valley Clock Tower with a truer Delorean. That, I can't wait to see.

All in all, Lego does get major props for ever making this set a reality.

Veil1, that is exactly what I wanted to see!!! That is waaay cool. Lego really would make a bundle if they expanded their BTTF offerings to do stuff like this. Thanks for the link!

Meh.
I liked the movies (especially the first one), but I have no desire for toys.

Good for you guys that are excited, though.
