Any Kaiju fans here? I'm a huge Godzilla fan, but I haven't bought anything in the past few years. The Bandai figures became too expensive, and tough to track down, and I'm too much of a "collect them all" kinda guy to keep it going. I ended up selling off all of them a few years back but I regret that. I'll have to dig up some of my old collection pics tonight.
I still have a bunch of the Gashapon figures though. Love those things.

Right here Superfly! Although I don't have many of the import toys from the Godzilla line I do have just about every movie starring the big "G". My favorite thing from childhood was the Godzilla that could shoot it's fist off, it's a shame I never got the matching Rodan.

Special Agent Slop Artist - welcome to AFI!
Good to see another G fan! I had the that huge Godzilla Shogun Warrior too, that was very cool. I beat the heck out of it though. Dunno where it is now...
I have almost all of the films too - on VHS. I had a buddy way back when that had every flick, and made me copies of all the films on a dozen VHS tapes. I haven't bothered to get them all on DVD yet though.

My favorite big G movie is Godzilla vs Megalon. They just released a new Jet Jaguar figure this year, which is good because the last one sells for $80+. I have the Shogun Godzilla but not the Rodan, I also have a weird Battinger Jumbo that is a big Ultraman dude.
I have close to a couple of dozen japanese monsters from both Godzilla and Ultraman. I don't know the names of most of them to be honest, I just buy them when I see them cheap(between $5-$10) and the cheesier and vintage looking they are the better.

I'm a Godzilla fan, but never got into the Bandai cycle for money reasons. I've got a few of the trendmasters, but they've been passed on to my son, who has the Kaiju bug.

I love the Trendmasters stuff. I still have the Space Godzilla and the small figure set from that line. And they finally gave me a Biollante that I didn't have to shell out $100 for (the Bandai version). I wish they had made the 10" version though...

You better believe it! Godzilla, Megalon, Gigan, Seesar, Gamera, Titanosaurus, the list is endless! I love Kaiju films! As far as toys, I prefer vinyls in the 5"-9" scale. (Cough cough...tons to swap for these...hint hint...cough...) GREAT memories of watching these films with my pop and my brothers. Every Thanksgiving WWOR Channel 9 in NYC would have a Godzilla Marathon, heh. Sure many of them are silly as hell, but thats the point - I think that many Americans criticize the films for being corny and cheese-ball, and they ARE, dont forget their intended audience - CHILDREN! They certainly have at least as much "moral fiber" as Barney and many other inane childrens programs! (Often hums the Jet Jaguar Hero Anthem while in the bath! "Jet Jag-oooh-Are..." LOL ) "Father? SURELY you wouldnt release the DISASTER MONSTERS??... The Mighty Raiden? The Terrible Manda?" -Katsura Great fun! Take care

Glad to see another fan of the genre here. My son LOVES the campy G films, and we watch them fairly often. I was really into the Bandai mid/late 90s figures, but they were tough to get and so expensive, and I realized that I couldn't possibly get them all, esp the theater exclusives and rare items, so I sold them. Totally regret it now...

Thats GREAT about you and your son, thats what those films are made for! As to selling your collection, I weep for you sir. Personally, I just love all of the awesome characters and imaginative designs. Toho's stable, Ultraman, Gamera, its ALL good to me! And as to certain releases and exclusives and what not, ehh, so long as I get ONE of each character thats all I really care about. Thanks to Bandai's "Island" series and others, so many have been reissued and bootlegged that it matters not anymore anyhow. (I regularly see monsters like Seesar and Jet Jaguar on E-Bay for $9.99 buy-it-now, I'm just not into paying as much for shipping as I am for the toy itself! ) Take care! (Oh, and I'm NOT going to mention that I'm looking for these monsters, any ones in nearly any condition! NOPE, not gonna mention that!! )
