A retailer who posts on another forum said he received a notice that Series 3 and 4 are not forthcoming.

If that's the case, it's a real shame. Whatever the sales were, I would imagine that the difficulty of navigating a toy line with so many different licenses was the biggest hurdle for LCBH to overcome. In any event, I didn't really expect this line to last all that long, though I do hope we get a few more waves (particularly if Nexus is indeed on the way. If this line does fail, I can't see much of a future for Marvel Toys. What other licenses do they have? A second rate wrestling organization? That won't cut it.

As painful as it is for us, having Marvel Toys go away may be a good thing for Marvel overall...
With continuing escalation of production costs (plastic from oil, transportation costs) and the problems - real or imagined - with Chinese manufacturing, and internal operating costs (personnel) along with a shrinking toy market; selling the licensing to other parties may be a more profitable option.
Hasbro pays Marvel Entertainment $$$ and then takes all the chances with creation, production, marketing, distribution.
Not good for fans, collectors or kids, but a cheaper way to make money . . .

Jakks also is soon taking over the TNA line (not sure if they start on that once the WWE license goes to Mattel or sooner). But does this mean that the Marvel Toys group is going away completely? Or they just won't be focusing on action figures anymore?

If they canceled the line, I'm gonna be pretty unhappy. I bought all the stuff that came into the stores, the Pitt wave, both the 2-packs and I traded on here for Marv.
But the second wave NEVER showed up, which was really a bummer because I wanted the Darkness more than any other character.

Well, I got Judge Dredd and Judge Death out of this. Not bad, but I wish that they had released wave 3.

I never got my Grendel figs, so I'm pretty bummed about the official news but I've expected the worst since Dec.
I guess this forum will be closing soon?
