The Marvel product is cranking out here at the end of the year, and the Marvel Legends 12" Icons series 3 has hit Toys R Us, Wal-mart and other stores. Tonight's review covers the regular Spider-man and variant Beast, both of which looked great in the package, but disappointed me on their articulation once out. It's those ball jointed hips on Spidey, and the ball jointed shoulders on Beast that are the culprits. But the sculpts and paints are great considering the low price point.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading!

Well, I have some issues with the idea of the Beast being an "Icon", but whatever. Still, he doesn't look all that great, and your review doesn't make him sound like all that much fun to play with. Spidy looks better, but yeah, I've got enough Spider- Man toys. On the whole, I've found this line to be rather dissapointing; of course, most of the figures are characters I don't particularly care for, so that hasn't helped.

Wow that's some bad ball jointed shoulders and hips. This type of articulation really doesn't work unless the toys are wearing clothes, so Beast doesn't look too bad with his jacket on.

great review as usual Mike.

So the black furred look from his first -- what, 3? -- appearances is the regular version, and the universally know blue furred look is the variant? :(

I found the blue furred Beast and Spider-Man ML Icons at a TRU in Louisville, KY on Dec 20, 2006. Happy hunting!

ROTFL! That's hilarious!

Oddly enough I have a cat that looks just like that with a penchant for boxes as well.

Peace,
