Aw man, I'm stoked!
My most wanted figure in the Showdown line was Thor, and I was pretty bummed that he was proving so elusive as a tailender in the line, especially after hearing the outrageous prices he was going for on eBay!
But, I kept looking on the 'bay and finally found him for pretty much cost + shipping. He just arrived today and he's awesome!
Now, I need to find Daredevil.
Jeff

I was pretty happy the day I found my Showdown Thor - three weeks ago I was in Vancouver and walked into a random comic shop on a whim. Sitting on the shelves were Showdown Thor, Cyclops and Venom - for about $10 Canadian each. It was a good day... I'm looking for DD too (he's all I need to complete my set).

So these guys just hit clearance at Toys 'R Us, and I decided to take the plunge. They are just too cool to pass up at cheap prices any longer. Plus, the are more or less in scale with Galactus and the Sentinel! So how difficult is it to find all these guys? Have I made a horrible mistake? Will I be forever kicking myself for not buying showdown Cap this time last year? Well, at least I'll have the Sub- Mariner riding a shark...

hellpop, check Big Lots (if you have any) and Kay Bee Toys, which had all the various series at one point. I haven't been in a K*B to check lately to see what they still have.
Funny this topic came back up. I was just going through some stuff and came across some boxes that had had my cheap Showdowns I haven't opened yet stored in them (I consolidated them into one box). Why I bought an extra Daredevil and Cyclops is beyond me!

Yes, I have a Big Lots near me that I've been meaning to head out to; there's nothing else really by there, so it's kinda off the normal toy run. KB does have some of these still, from what I've seen, which is part of the reason I decided to start with 'em. I figure I can at least get SOMETHING while I'm out searching fruitlessly for Barda and Two- Face. And hey, if you want to get rid of that Daredevil also, let me know.

Little late in the game for this thread, but I just got the Showdown Thor a couple of weeks back and he looks great with the new Marvel Universe figures.
A Classic Thor is probably on the way from Hasbro, but it looks like they'll be doing the newer version from the JMS series first. Until they do the classic one, I can't recommend the Showdown version enough. He just rocks the whole Asgardian house.
