Thanks, 'Fly. Liking the Perez HOTDCU stuff. I might pick up Silver Age J'onn, maybe the others except for Nightwing. This wave isn't very exciting for me, but it should make some folks happy.

You know, I was a Mod at toyark for a bit and I left as I really don't like the way they run the site nor how they handle the layout.
I will wait till The OtterMarx & Sir Cope post the AFI update.
Rock on guys!

The new 13-Inch Poison Ivy looks awful! I hope she gets a major 're-do' before any promo shots are released. I posted more thoughts in the 13-Inch thread.
So, DC Direct looks like they are going with the T-Crotch on the History of the DCU figures; no more flirting with the new hip joint. Too bad. The Martian Manhunter looks good though and Captain Atom is a nice, different touch.
More JLA Classified aka McGuiness JLA! But, as I look at them, I wonder if I really need anymore of these. Minus Reverse Flash, I feel like I am just repeating characters that I now have in DCUC format. But, I will get these -- it's a Hal to go with the others and you can't have a Superman Red without a Superman Blue! But this series of figures may be coming to the end of the line for me.

See, now I LOVE that the are giving us the DCU again in the McGuinness style.
I simply love this style as an action figure. Its like Chocolate and Peanut Butter. The 2 just go so well together.
I agree about the 13" Ivy. She needs some serious time under a sun lamp to get those buds to flower.
And, I am sold. I will be buying into the Blammoids. Here's hoping they churn out a good 15 or 16 waves of these before DC loses interest ...

I really didn't want to be the one to comment on the new Ame-Comi figurines...
But since you broke the ice Jim ...
Homminah homminah homminah ...
(I wish we ad a Tex Avery Wolf Whistle smiley cuz I would be all over that right now...)
And in regards to the flocking of Creeper ..
I remember way back when, George had asked if people would want the Creeper done with Sculpted hair or with rooted, soft-goods hair ... this seems like the perfect compromise. Well done George and gang, well done.

Didn't notice the crotch switch until now. CSC just called to let me know that wave one is ready for pick-up. I'd already forgotten I had those ordered through them.
Creeper's flocking reminds me of an uproar in the 60's where someone wrote "flicker!" with the "l" and "i" on a comic's cover way too close for the editor's comfort.
The "flocking" will guarantee DCD a sale from me now. I was going for the soft goods option, but this is a nice compromise, yeah.

What exactly is "flocking," and how different is it from rooted?

In the toy industry, it's a kind of felt-like material applied over plastic to resemble fur. Composed mainly of wool or cotton fibers, it's not plushy in nature, like rooted hair tends to appear sometimes.
I used to own a couple of WB cartoon figures of guys like Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, and Wile E. that were made like that. If the quality of the material used is poor, flocked toys may wear out easily leaving "balding" spots, but this is rare in action figures where it is rarely used nowadays.
A "hairier" variation of this material was used for the fuzzy headed/bearded G.I. Joe Adventure Team figures of the 1970's and both versions of Moss Man in the original and 2002 Masters of the Universe lines.

The costumes for 13-Inch Deluxe Wonder Woman, Jay Garrick Flash and Zatanna look good. But the heads look a tad small, especially Jay's, and the sculpts look a little soft. I hope DC Direct comes through on these three; I have been looking forward to them for quite awhile.
