I just finally read Darwyn Cooke's excellent series DC: The New Frontier.

I can't believe I missed this when it came out! Such neat stuff!

I would love some DCD figures in his style, or at least a PVC set (remember when DCD still made those...)

They do so many artist style lines now, why not a line on a guy with a great retro/animated feel that would make killer toys?

You know, his art would look great on retro style T-shirts.

But figures would rock too...

I'd be all over these if they made Challengers of the Unknown and King Faraday. I'd also like to see posters of the covers... those were gorgeous.

I just bought Selina's Big Score today, hoping it's as good as New Frontier.

I was blown away by how good New Frontier was.

He's really the Bruce Timm of comics in that he's got a new and different visual style (sort of retro animated) but a real mature sensibility and clear love for the characters.

Shirts, Posters, hell, whatever stuff DCD wants to make I'd buy! :)

I just read it too!

These would make fantasic figures, especially a full-figured Wonder Woman and flight suit Hal Jordan.

At least one assortment, with great Cooke designed retro style cards would be great.

And how would this be as a poster? ;)

Oh hell yeah!

Man, if only he would get as much publicity as Turner... :D

I know who I'm gonna be asking for at SDCC!

Wow...that cover is sharp.

Like a moron, I only picked up the first issue of New Frontier - I got busy and neglected to get the other issues and kinda forgot about it...so the trade is out now?

>>so the trade is out now?<<

Yep. The second volume recently came out.

(I'm totally on board with the idea of New Frontier figures.)

The story was spilt in trade form. The 1st 3 issues are in Book 1 and issues 4,5,6 are in Book 2.

In case anyone didn't know, Darwyn designed the insanely cool opening credits for Batman Beyond. He used to be a storyboard artist on Batman and Superman Animated...
