I subscribe to comic books through the Westfield Comics catalog, which I received in the mail last week. And they have a toy section.

Here were these BATMAN LEGACY figures, one of Batman, and one of Mister Freeze that looked more than a little Super Powers-ish in some respects.

However, what got me was that the design of the figures, especially with regard to articulation looked very much like Mattel's DC Universe Classics. But doing a limited Batman-centric line seems like an odd move.

No manufacturer was listed. Are these things DCUC or DC Direct, anyone know?

These are Mattel figures:

The intention is to keep Batman on the shelves/plan-o-gram now through when it's time for the new Dark Knight Rises figures are ready to be on shelves.

Okay, so my hunch was right, and maybe it wasn't such a dumb question. I thought those looked a little too much like DCUC's to be DCD's, even with the relatively poor pics in the catalog.

I guess the reason makes sense, as long as they don't start edging out DCUC, which clearly these are based upon.

Thanks for the link to the pics in the Galleries. Honestly, the only one I see that I think is a must have is the Mr. Freeze, and that's mostly because I do own the Super Powers figure.

Thanks for the news!

They'll co-exist side-by-side just as DCUC and Green Lantern Classics are doing right now.
