While I'm excited for Mattel's SDCC Swamp Thing, DC Direct's figure from over a decade ago still is a work of art!

"The Swamp is my world
It is who I am... It is what I am
I was once a man,
I know the evil men do
Do not bring your evil here, I warn you...
Beware the wrath of... Swamp Thing!"

One possibility is that fans of DCUC will dump their DC Direct versions of Swamp Thing, making them cheap to pick up on the secondary market. Or at least cheaper than they have been.

It would be cool if DC Direct gave us a new Swamp Thing with the White Lantern symbol on its chest as part of a Brightest Day wave 4.

Yeah, that old DCD fig is great! Fun pics! It's pretty much just a statue with some limited posing, but it's great. The swappable hands with the flower versions were great too.

I'm getting the DCUC one, but I'm not getting rid of the DCD.

Wasn't that figure made off of a scaled down mold from the Swamp Thing Statue that DC Direct had put out shortly before they started the toy line?

I had both (sold the statue off a few years back) and seem to recall that they were almost identical in stance/pose and aesthetics

Correct. I still have both the figure and the statue.

The swappable hands were a nice touch. They also did a glow in the dark variant. Both are fairly rare these days/
